Did I make the right choice? I changed my reservation from CSR to French Quarter. My kids are 8 and 3, and from what I read, I thought they would like French Quarter better. I love the look of CSR though. I'd appreciate some feedback. Thanks!

My family stayed at CSR several years ago. From their report and what I've read here, it is very spread out and could be a lot of walking to the bus stop and food court depending on where your room is. That will not be the case at POFQ- the resort is much smaller and every room is close to everything.
Now, a lot of people love CSR! I would research and choose the best one for my family.
POFQ has a cool dragon slide in the pool. The mardi gras theme is nice with jazz music playing in areas. The alligator statues are a hit with the kids. Good food court with great choices.
I don't know a lot about CSR- maybe someone who does can help you there!

Hi,
I have not stayed at POFQ, but am booked there for June. I have however stayed at CSR and I think it is a really beautiful resort.
That being said I dont know if I would stay there again because it just didnt feel like a disney resort to me. I would stay there again if it wasnt at disney. I have stayed at POR before and have always wanted to try POFQ. I think the slide is going to be a hit with my grandkids and I know Old Man Island is a really nice pool.
Its kind of nice you get to use two pools...6 actually! Two main pools. and you have the boat to DTD. I think you will be happy with youre choice.
I am excided about going there myself!

I have stayed at the CSR - it is very pretty, southwest theme. My son loved the pool and we enjoyed the small poolside restaraunt. However, LONG walk to food court. I would take DS to room after park and DH would hike (we called him Pedro the pack mule!) to the food court to bring the dinner back to our room. More than once DS was sound asleep by the time he returned! Food Court was ok and well as the sit down restaraunt (can't remember the name) We are staying at POR in May (now with our 3 kids) Hoping for the best! Hope this helps you make a decision. All said, you always have fun in the World no matter which resort you choose. They are all magical!

Oh yeah, split that trip - stayed at the CBR- liked CSR MUCH better. Much less crowded and seemed cleaner. (I think it was fairly new at the time, maybe hadn't caught on yet).

I have stayed at FQ and love it there! We are booked at CSR in a few weeks. When I found out FQ would be opening a few days before our arrival I tried to get the rest of the family to switch, but they wouldn't! It will be fun to try a new place, but I hope I like it as well as FQ! My sons liked the looks of the big lake and all the boats to rent. They also wanted to try the pool at CSR. I know no matter what we will have a great time!:Pinkbounc

To make this short and sweet...
I have stayed at both resorts. I would only go back to one of them and that would be POFQ (which is great). I did not like CSR.

We spent 16 wonderful days at csr dec 18-jan3. We are all pooh sized people and found the walk was never long from one point to another. We requested the ranchos for we fell in love with the look of the building. My mother had just had open heart surgery july 27 of 2003 and she never complained of the walk. In fact we were trying to figure out from what point people say its a 15 minute walk:rolleyes: We loved the pool area and walked around saying anyone with kids would really love it here. And we fell in love with the Pepper market There is somthing for everyone from mexican to american there never was a fight over what we were going to eat. Having said all that we are staying at POFQ on are next stay . we are trying to stay at every resort. I think you will have fun either way:teeth:

Well, it sounds like FQ was a good choice. Thanks for all the advice. It makes me feel better. rileyroosmom - you made me laugh. My husband is always the one sent to bring back food and refill mugs as well!:teeth:

Having stayed at both, my vote goes to CSR for 2 reasons--my family prefers the pool there and we have experienced the best bus transportation at CSR. Bus transportation is important to us as we usually do not rent a car and come back to the room for mid-afternoon breaks, etc. We always request Cabana 8A--it is very close to the pool and bus stop and about a 5 minute walk to the food court. PO-FQ is nice, we just prefer CSR. Hope this helps.

I think you should stay with your current booking.

We stayed at the CBR in 02 and just loved it.

But we switched to the CSR our next trip, just for sake of experiencing a new place.

We loved the CSR too. Some small things like theming colors were more or less appealing. But, heck, you're still IN Walt Disney World! They're all great!

Next time we will probably try Port Orleans so we can compare all of them.

I can say that the CBR rooms have two sinks which is very nice compared to the single sink at the CSR. But is that enough reason to pick one over the other?

The pool at the CSR is really big and really fun. The pyramid is amazing. The slide is long and fun. There are stairs all around the pool which made it lots of fun to jump and play in the water with my DD7.

CSR is my favortie for the pool, transportation, landscaping and Pepper Market. My DD loves the pool at CSR, especially the slide.
