How far from CSR to POR by car? We are staying at CSR, but love the boatride downtown and thought of driving to POR and catching the boat instead of driving DTD (assuming this is allowed). Thanks!

10-20 minutes, depending on the time of day.

Just turn left out of the CSR exit, go past DHS and CBR, and turn left just after the underpass, onto Bonnet Creek Pkwy. After the 2nd light on Bonnet Creek, you'll come to the POFQ entrance on the right, followed by POR a little ways further.

Anyone can ride the boats. I don't know what the parking policy is for guests of other resorts, but I would guess it's OK, as there's not a huge demand like there is at the MK resorts & FtW.

Parking policy at all of the resorts is three hours, if you are dining or visiting the resort.

They do tend to keep an eye on it, especially around the holidays, since people visit the resort on the premise of taking the bus to DTD to do some shopping, then hop on the parks buses to get to the parks, or spend several hours at DTD. I have seen a few cars towed from POR around the Thanksgiving holiday when I am there.

Parking is free at DTD for anyone using it to shop there. And there is no time limit. You can take the water taxi over to POR and walk around and then take it back to DTD. I would suggest doing it that way if you are going to be more than a couple of hours. However, be advised while a lot of people do it that way, you have to disembark and get back on at POR, at the next available water taxi. You cannot ride round trip.

We love visiting POR & taking the boat in the evening --Dixie Landings was our first on property resort! Always brings back great memories, and the view of DTD from the water is wonderful. We never have a car, so we bus from CSR to DHS & then take the bus to POR. How long it takes, as always, depends on your luck. This would eliminate having to go back to POR, as you can just catch the CSR bus from Downtown.

As mentioned, parking at resorts are 3 hrs for visits. I would take the CSR bus to DHS, and transfer to POR bus, est time 42 min. Then you can boat to DTD and take bus from DTD directly back to CSR. We love the boat to DTD. Very scenic going past the Treehouses, SSR, & around DTD.

Print off some google or bing maps to help you get there. I do this before every trip. Really helps.
