Has anyone stayed at both of these resorts? Which pool did you like better? Thanks

I can't answer your question but I can offer pics of the CSR pool. Just click on my CSR website below

We have stayed at both resorts and the pool at Coronado Springs is bigger and has a great water slide. Also, the hot tub at CS is huge! The entire DigSite area is very well themed and we overall enjoyed the CS better than the WL, but we were in the villas at WL, not the main building.

If you making your decision based only on the pool and have kids, I think you will love CS!

Good luck!

We've stayed at both and I'd have to say that the CSR main pool The Dig Site is much more enjoyable!

Try the slide, you'll love it! You'd be amazed at how many adults were going down with their children!

Both pools are great-either way, you win!!!! I do LOVE the WL. Nothing like the sound of a waterfall in the background. Both of these pool areas have this.

The WL is a smaller resort and therefore a smaller pool and slide but it is a beautiful hotel. And the pool area is beautifully designed. It was a peaceful and enjoyable pool to be at, our kids were happy with it, but two were under 4.

The Coronado is a bigger resort, but don't let the size scare you. It felt so much smaller than CBR or AS. The pool area is fantastic. My kids loved it, especially the slide. The kiddie pool located close to end of slide so I could watch all. Lots of seating, some covered. Playground great and food right there ! Hot tub - there is always room !

I don't think you can go wrong with either stay, but if you will spend alot of time at the pool I say try the Coronado.

Buzz has a great website, check it out !

......can anyone describe the WL pool slide to me.? Does it have a fairly long ride before you drop into the water? Is it much of a climb for a little one to get to the top? Thanks...any info would be helpful.:wave2:

Here is a picture of it. The slide is in what looks like the pile of rocks. Beware, it is MUCH faster than it looks!!;)

The WL slide is pretty tame compared to CSR! It's not very high up either.

Buzz, how do you compare CS to CBR? We stayed at CBR last year and are thinking of trying CS this September. We loved the walkway around CBR, so we could get our exercise in each night (as if we didn't walk enough during the day!) I have heard that CS has the same time type of pathway. Also, what are the smaller pools like at CS? The main pool at CBR was very nice, but always crowded, so we spent our pool time at the Trinidad North pool, which I was not impressed with. Nothing special about it at all. By the way, I am from Southington!!!:wave2:

I've stayed at both. The walkway around the CS is very nice. I like the "crispness" of it for lack of a better term. At night the lights on the water, the design of the buildings, creative landscape and the nice soothing colors. We also found that even though it is a large resort, it felt much smaller than CBR and was very quiet.

The theme pool is unbelievably bigger and room for all. I liked that it had everything we needed yet was removed from the main building. We also experienced the crowds of CBR theme pool. The quiet pools are just that, very quiet and peaceful. I think Buzz had photos of those last time I looked.

We would go back to CS in a heartbeat, but have no plans to return to CBR.

Leaving soon for AKL :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Your post was encouraging to me. I've stayed at CBR and just wasn't crazy about it. I just assumed I'd feel the same way about CS. My son is interested in trying CS next time but my heart belongs to PO. Maybe I will like CS too. Sounds like the kids would love the pool area. The theme pool at CBR was always too busy and we spent most of our swim time at the unimpressive quiet pool.

:wave2: sarahj! We love CSR! So much so I created the website below to spread the word. We tried other places but we always end back at CSR.

Hopperfan and Buzz, Thanks for the info! You've convinced me. I'll try CS this trip. We really liked CBR, but it was very crowded and thousands of kids everywhere. I know, I know it IS Disney, after all! But it was our first trip without any kids, so we were looking for a little bit of peace and quiet! We loved the room at CBR, and I heard that CS rooms are the same size and design, so that is good. Buzz your pictures are fantastic. Now all I have to do is wait to get some discounts for September!!! We are thinking that this week we will book AAA or the 7 for 5 package if it comes out, and then wait and see what AP rates come out for September. Thanks again!

The rooms at CSR are a little different. I believe it is a tad smaller (same size as POR, though). There is only one sink, but it comes with coffeemaker, hairdryer, iron (you don't have to request anything). I did like the rooms at CBR better, but the rest fo the resort (CSR) blew me away! Beautiful for just walking around. CBR just seemed to be the same thing all around, just different colors and the pool slide was very short. I remember very clearly sitting at the pool at CSR and thinking that I could stay at this resort every time because it is just so perfect! We may be back in Sept, but we do like to try all the resorts (just to be fair). Be sure to walk all around it and do the breakast at Maya Grill at least once!

sarahj...I think you will be happy with your choice. Most of the posters on this board have a favorite resort. In reality, I don't think any resort at WDW could be bad enought to ruin a trip. It's what you make it. Some posters just want to harp on negative things about the resorts they don't like. I guess that makes them happy. I just show the proof in my website and let others decide. I'll post some other things that might help with your stay.

for the Pepper Market you can purchase Quick & Casual vouchers and they make eating at the Pepper Market that much better.

One example how the Q&C vouchers save you money...
Coronado Springs Pepper Market

steak dinner with potato & veggies - $16.95 Side salad - $3.95, smoothie - 3.95, dessert - $4.95, tax & gratuity - $6.41

Total: $36.17

I paid $15.20 for my vouchers on eBay and it will cover all of the above including tax and gratuity. Its a great deal!! The vouchers normally cost $11.50 from Connections and Simple Escapes programs or Hotwire Savings Club but you have to join their clubs.

since CSR is a large resort, you can use the bus system to assist you in your resort activities. This may help.

Utilize the buses instead of walking
Theme park buses go:
2 - Casitas
3 - Ranchos
4 - Cabanas
1 - El Centro

Downtown Disney buses, as well as Park Exit buses go:
1 - El Centro
2 - Casitas
3 - Ranchos
4 - Cabanas

CSR buses go in this order so that guests can hop on board a theme park bus and take it to the main building. They can then hop on a DTD bus to get back to their rooms.

Nolcrest - I love POR too ! It was our first on-site stay, the one we have visited the most, and one I will be quick to recommend. But I would equally recommend Coronado. They are just two different themes, with a slight more fun at the pool at Coronado.

I've always thought that each time they built a moderate they learned some things and made changes the next time. I think they made the changes at Coronado in the Pool and amenities. A real step up !

Sarahj - I think you'll find the CSR a good place to be for adults only. Being a convention hotel many guests are there to "work" some of the time and have no family with them. We had a few families hanging at the pool (October) but I think that since you are thinking Sept people will be less liking to pull kids from school. Probably just the very young families. The convention area is to the front by the main building. There were several going on while we were there, but very unaware unless we went over to the convention wing. Wonderful layout.

We always have the thought process to keep trying different hotels when we had the opportunity. Most we would return to in a heartbeat! A couple we will not return to - no magic for us.

Both POR :jester: and Coronado :sunny: are ones we will return to !!!

That is so good to hear! We will be there for our first time ever in June. :hyper:
