Thinking of trying the CSR this time around for a quick 3 or 4 day stay. Like the idea of the business class rooms - nice location with a few extra perks. I have a 5yr old boy and am wondering about the pool for him. He is a good swimmer (with floaties!) but not a huge daredevil. Is the pool slide geared more toward older kids? Is it possible for either my husband or me to go down the slide with him? Also - what types of things are there to do at the resort - rent bikes / boats etc.? Thanks for any help!

IMO, the pool and slide are better for older children. The slide is long and one of the better slides in WDW. The pool is also fairly deep, no zero entry. Your DS will have to go down the slide by himself but he can wear a life jacket. I didn't pay attention to bike or boat rental but I don't remember seeing either. There is a playground by the pool and there were pool games, a campfire with toasting marshmallows, and beach volleyball.

We really loved the resort and would gladly stay there again but we will wait until our children are older.

Thank you for the info. Much appreciated. Think we may try one of the POR resorts instead. Now to figure out if we should go to Riverside or French Quarter. Thanks again!

Glad to help. If the slide is important, I think the FQ slide is a bit tamer. You might look at some you tube videos of the resorts and pool areas to see what you think is a better fit. Have fun planning.

CSR is our faav. Mod but POr is a clsoe second...

If you are concerned about your kid and the slide, as pp stated it is one of the best pools/slides on all of WDW. Also POR is very good too...With that as your main factor I would choose POFQ for it is geared to younger children & a lot smaller than all the others...

I took my twins to CSR and they did fine with the pools ( my kids are on the smallish size too) & We did POR when they were 8 same results..

If renting bikes/boats is important, POR offers that. Different kinds of boats and the surrey bikes are for rent there.
