I am ready to book our Thanksgiving trip and was wondering if anyone has stayed at CSR for Thnaksgiving and what the experience was like????

We stayed there last year arriving thanksgiving day for 10 days. 1 st 3 days were a little full but then resort as well as the parks were empty. There was a convention the 1st weekend in december there but we hardly noticed many extra people. as for the Buses its great becuase your not sharing with another resort or have 7-8 stops before you leave resort. if your at back of resort it is about 6-7 minute walk to food court, but other then that its great. we stayed at CBR and POR twice each and will never go back there . this sept were going back to csr.

We are also arriving at CSR on T'Day around noon. I'm hoping that we requested areas so far in advance that arriving on the holiday won't jeopardize any chances we have for those areas.

Also, can you suggest place for dinner, preferably not traditional turkey but regular menu outside parks?

All I can say is good luck. We were there this past Thanksgiving. We actually stayed at Boardwalk for 2 nights, then CSR for 4 nights (over Thanksgiving) and then Pop for 6 nights. CSR was the worst. It was crazy crowded (yes, I know it was Thanksgiving.) We had requested a room close to the main pool, didn't get anywhere near it. Our first room smelled extremely bad of smoke and they wouldn't (or couldn't) change us. They were going to bring in some machine to get the smell out but we had to be out of the room for 4 hrs. We were, but they never brought the machine up. We finally got moved at 10 pm to a room over near the main pool (miraculously it turned up). But still had to tip Bell Services twice. I thought the buses were ridiculously crowded. We waited forever when we were at the MK one night. Oh, and the main pool was chilly. They tried to say it was 82 degrees but we had just come from BWI and that pool was heated. It just seemed extremely spread out. I could go on and on, but I won't because I know a lot of people like this resort. It could have been bad timing but I will never go there again. To tell you the truth, the best time we had was at Pop. Even more than the Boardwalk. Not to sway you, but maybe a less spread out resort would be better at a crowded time.

Oh, say it ain't so. We're splurging on CSR for three nights over the weekend before going on to POP (which I've stayed at and very much liked). Thought we'd do this because we didn't want to go to the parks and wanted the added amenities at the resort (pool slide, nicer restaurants, walking trails, etc.) Do you know if the resort itself was busy during the day? I'm hoping everyone goes off to the parks and just leaves us alone :rotfl:

We also stayed there last Thanksgiving and we didn't notice any difference in days. We actually were using some of the Q&C vouchers and found out after the fact that we could've used them on a Thanksgiving meal at the Pepper Market!:) Would've been a great deal! (were too full after Rainforest Cafe).
However, compared to other prices that we saw, the meal there still would've been a great deal!;)
The week was a bit crowded, but getting up and out early helped to get in a lot of attractions at the parks.
The weather was nice for the entire week except for one night when it rained, and then it only rained that night. The kids and DH went swimming three times while we were there.
All in all I'd say it was a great time to go.

To be honest with you, we weren't around during the days that much. The day we checked in we were at the pool for 4 hours and it was pretty crowded as was the Pepper Market. Thanksgiving is a great time to go especially if you stay the week after like we did. I could definitely tell a difference once the Thanksgiving weekend was over, especially in the parks. I wouldn't stay at such a spread out resort again. But that's just me. If you are going to stay at the resort instead of going to the parks, if at all possible, I would splurge for one of the deluxes. But again, that's just me. No matter what, you are at Disney and you will have a great time. :earsboy:

Thanks for all the replies, but DH had refused to stay there. He foreced me to book BWI concierge-the nerve!!!!!
