CSR During Construction? Don't Be Afraid

Stayed in Casitas 4 from Apr. 15 - 17. Room was in real need of a makeover, but as far as the construction goes, we didn't know the better.

The construction area was fenced in and covered by a vinyl facade. We didn't hear or see any construction, no sight lines were obstructed and there was no dust or debris.

Don't let construction at a resort put you off. Especially if you will be mostly in the parks or at the pool from 9-5. Stayed in Ranchos 7A this weekend for a last minute trip. Great AP discount. Brand new room...still had that new room smell! The beds were incredibly comfortable (make sure to check under the beds when you leave). Great pillow selection, Keurig coffee maker, nice new mini fridge, excellent use of space in the closet and vanity area, plenty of light, and a huge TV. Bus Stop 3 right near by. They are finishing construction on this building now but it was a non factor. They don't start before 9 am. We love this resort. It is so nice and quiet...even with the "millions" of cheerleaders on property and the construction!

How were the crowds at Bus Stop 3, and were the buses already full by the time it got there? I am going to request a new room in 7A, I know it is not a guarantee, but wanted to know in case we do end up lucky. We always stay in Casitas, and utilize Bus Stop 2, which is first on the route, and in the early mornings especially it really helps. Glad to hear you had a great stay, and I am really happy to hear that the construction is not too intrusive just yet. We are going in 10 days. We stayed at AKL Jambo House while construction was going on for Kidani before it opened. We got upgraded from a std to a savannah view room. We were mostly out of the room while the construction was going on. But, the last 2 nights they were jack hammering past 9pm, and the beds literally shook..lol but luckily it stopped within about 45 min each time. I would not want to be in the room for a long period of time while that is going on.

Cheerleaders weren't really a factor at the pool from what I could tell. They compete all day and then they go to the parks. The buses were very loud but not out of control or disrespectful. Just teenage loudness. The parents were crowding the bar area at night though! Can't say I blame them lol.

Thank you, that makes me feel better. In many stays at CSR we've only encountered one large group that was a distraction, buses to Disney Springs in the evening were standing room only.

We'll be there soon, can't wait :)

So what is the schedule - all of Ranchos first? I thought I read somewhere they did one Ranchos building and now they are moving to Casitas? Going in December, not sure which area to request. Wanted Ranchos 7B - are the old rooms really worn down?

The buses were no problem at all from Bus Stop 3 or from the main building...HOWEVER we did see whole teams of cheerleaders and their families get on buses at the same time to go to the parks from the main building the day we got there...it was later in the day so I assume they were done competing. Even still, we had no problem getting a seat on the bus to MK. And the main building is the last stop. Early mornings were a breeze for buses to. To sum up: We were there during a very busy weekend...Cheerleading, Flower and Garden, AND Dapper Days and had no problems at all with transportation.
