CSR: Cabanas vs. Casitas?

For all you CSR fans -- has anyone stayed in both Casitas and Cabanas?

We stayed in Cabanas 8A last time and thought is was great. Close to the Dig Site, short walk to El Centro, beautiful view of the Casitas across the lake, loved the hammocks...

But I'm wondering if we should request a Casitas room this time? We are 4 adults -- and have booked the King rooms. Not sure if these are located in all buildings... The couple we're going with has never been to WDW before, so we're expecting lots of time in the parks. However, I know DH will want to hit the hot tub most nights...

Any thoughts are appreciated!! Thanks!

I have stayed in both and definitely love the cabanas location to everything more than the casitas. But the casitas have much better landscaping and courtyards. I would try cabana 9b if possible.

Hi Goofysprincess !

We are booked for CSR Oct 8-13. I requested the Casita section as our first choice, Cabanas as our second choice.
From all the photos I have seen, I really like the "look" of the Casitas better.

My main concern is being close to a bus stop, and within fair proximity to the Dig Site.Being close to ElCentro is not a major issue for us, as we don't plan on using the foodcourts etc much anyway.
The one day we have planned to just be lazy and lounge around the pools, may be the only day we access the food court at all.

Casitas, Building 2 or 3. I have stayed in all 3 sections and I think the Casitas are lovely. Since you are 4 adults, being near the Dig Site is not as much of an issue. The quiet pool is between Casita 3 and 4 - it is a lovely, nice sized pool. The Dig is about a 5 minute walk should you wish to go there. Best of all the Casita bus stop is often the first bus stop in the resort. For some reason, many of the CSR buses stop at Bus Stop #2 first and Bus Stop #1 last.

You know... I think being close to El Centro would be better. I'm going to call and change my request to Cabanas 9B (first choice) or Casitas 3 (second choice) and keep my fingers crossed. Thanks everyone!

I have stayed in both and I greatly prefer the Cabana section. I find the Casita section to be more busy and louder while the Cabana section is quiet and laid back. I also love the beach area and the short walk to the main pool.

Have stayed in all three. Prefer the location of the Cabanas, and prefer the architecture and surroundings of the Ranchos. During our one stay at the Casitas it seemed all of the guests were business men and women there for conventions.

Our last two CSR stays have been in the Cabanas by choice.

We stayed in Casitas 2 last time, and we loved it!

We did conventioneers there, but so what? Just guests in suits as far as we were concerned.

I have only stayed at Ranchos which I prefer just from the look of the section compared to the other two. But our of the two you are choosing from-go with Cabanas!
