CSR booked solid Oct/Nov/Dec?!

My wife and I are looking at our options for a late-fall trip. We'd prefer to stay at CSR (done POR twice; time to go back "home" where we spent our first WDW vacation). Alas, CSR appears to be booked solid mid-Oct through mid-Dec.

Anyone know what might have the resort tied up? I've found a few convention schedules, but nothing that would suggest 100% occupancy for two months.

I would think conventions would be at least part of the reason. Unfortunately for us, Disney resorts don't have as much of an "off" season as they used to. Hope you can get into our favorite resort!!!!

I can't answer your question, unfortunately, however we are booked at CSR from 10/14-10/20 so I went on to the Disney website to check availability for those dates, in hopes to help you find something. You are right, everything is booked up except for the Junior Suite, and the 1 bedroom suites. Not sure why it is that way, but it does concern me a little knowing that the whole resort is booked up, and that is a big resort to begin with.

This resort seems to do this at various time during the year. I wanted to stay there years ago, but it never worked out until the past February for us.

Have you checked around with TAs to see if any of them have blocks that they might be holding on to...?

Have you checked just one night? Sometimes if you search for a period of 7 days and only one of those nights is not available, it rejects the whole request and makes it appear as though it's booked solid.

That being said, I suspect convention season coupled with a robust free dining schedule this Fall isn't helping availability. Check sites like Orbitz, Travelocity, etc. because they tend to get room blocks to sell from and may still have availability.

I too would suggest checking with a TA. Our TA's agency had a block of rooms at a discounted rate for most of November. We just booked ours about 8 weeks ago.

I went to Orbitz just now and put in Oct 11-17 (Su to Sat) to see if I could find anything and got CSR water view for $1230.10. Also, a CSR preferred room-king for Nov. 15-21(Su-Sa) for $1300.70. When and how long are you looking for exactly?

I found rooms on the Disney site for the same dates at Business Class $1529.72 and Preferred-King $1317.72 respectively.

CSR is also doing some remodeling. I think that is keeping room inventory a bit limited.

Being a convention hotel - check what events might be held there during this time. They often have room blocks set aside that could be contributing. My guess is it is a combination of room block holds for conventions, being a free dining resort option, and the remodeling.

Conventions, Free Dining and a resort refurbishment that will keep at least one building at a time out of inventory. Because it's hard to say for sure how fast the refurb will go they may be holding more than one building out of inventory. If that's the case you could see some last minute availibilty as it gets closer to the dates.

Keep trying. It was booked solid for my Nov dates and then rooms appeared and I got in.

I randomly check our dates (dec 6-11) every day lol.... and there was availability today. Some days there has NOT been any. So, I wonder if they book blocks of rooms for conventions etc and then end up releasing them. Keep trying... and I agree with others... find a TA

We're looking at a 7 day stay in early December most likely. Work schedules, flight costs from YHZ, and the weak CAD-to-USD exchange rate has us keeping our options wide open for dates, however.

Just looked at Orbitz and CSR-std view is $884.93 and Disney website is $1010.70 for the week, Dec 6-12. That's about as cheap as you can get for a week at a Disney moderate. These are room only rates by the way.
