ok, I think we've decided on this resort-they have the bump steps I need and it fits our budget and we like the theming. For anyone who has stayed here with a wheelchair, I have a few questions:

1) are the walking bridges wheelchair accessible?

2)how do I request a HA room? will they tell me what section/room I'll be in or do I need to request a HA room AND request what building I'd like to be in? (hope that makes sense)

3) how did you find the buses to be with a wheelchair?

thanks to anyone who can help with these questions or any other CSR tips you may have!

The bridges are wheelchair accessible. Even though it looks far on the map, the distance around the large lake is less than a mile (for comparison, the walkway around the water at World Showcase is about 1.3 miles).
We stayed at CSR in Ranchos, building 7A, which looks far away from the main building on the map, but it was not a bad walk, pushing DD's wheelchair.

When you make your reservation, tell them you need a handicapped accessible room - there are some with bathtubs with grab bars and some fully accessible rooms with roll in showers. So, be specific.
There are accessible rooms available in different areas; request the section you are interested in. I'm not sure if CSR has certain areas that are considered 'preferred'. Some resorts have designated the areas closest to the main pool or food court as 'preferred' and there is an extra charge to get rooms in that area. People on the Resort Board can answer that if no one here knows.
How it's been working recently is, the CM taking the reservation will call Special Reservations (the people who actually keep track of the accessible rooms) and check to see if one is available. They won't tell you where exactly it is, but will block one off for you.

3) how did you find the buses to be with a wheelchair?
We have been using the buses with a wheelchair for over 15 years. In general, it works very well. Almost 100% of the buses are equipped to load/restrain wheelchairs. There is more information on the disABILITIES FAQs thread near the top of this board.
