CSE-- Pg. 74 SATAN'S HAMMER, Ch.18, pg.160 "Goodnight Sweetheart" epilogue

Kümmel, huh? Umlauts make every word üüüber fun ;)
Contrary to popular belief, zee Germans are a really friendly bunch!

Which probably has a LOT to do with the amount of alcohol we drink. Or maybe that's just me. I'm not sure. Love butterscotch schnapps, though! :D

Ein Prosit, ein Prosit der Gemutlichkeit! :drinking1

I feel deprived, I can't type an umlaut :(

Ladies and Gentleman
(notice how that came out singular? still not sure who would qualify but there has to be one, right?)

The moment you have all been waiting for has arrived, yes, we are going to finally get to the great "reveal" as Jakeybake called it.

That's right, the total mileage on the Santa Fe, let us review:

It's a 2003, bought in early '03, six cylinder all wheel drive and been to New York once, and WDW 13 times, so we are talking about an over nine year old car now, they say that the average car gets 12000 miles per year put on it, that's why most warranties use the 12000 number, using that formula alone would bring you to about 114000 miles for the average person.

And most of you fell for it.
Most.

But even though I do all the driving to Florida, and beyond!, this is still a Smidgy vehicle, and as you know, she is FAR from normal!

So, we are going by your guesses that are the closest to the actual mileage number, no matter if higher or lower, the top 5 finishers are, in order, worst to best:

5. Backstage Gal , Marita
4. Okittysquared, Carrie
3. DStratton, Darla, the fish killer
2. Ponzi, Ponzi, you just over extremed your extreme answer

and closest at number 1.
GrandBob, can't remember his name

the actual mileage was,
and remember, your mileage may vary,
79, 846

I think if you took away all the trips, she's have negative mileage. There was a time when she never had to go far, but now the VFW is 20 miles round trip.
For me? Those 27 and a half years I worked for my company was 71 miles round trip.

Okey doke

I do believe we have a new chapter for you all readey to go for tomorrow night.

Awesome Nebo! Congrats to GrandBob for a great guess! :worship: My 2004 Acura TL has 95,520 miles as of this afternoon and that's saying something in my neck of the woods as it is rural around here, hence a lot more driving. Congrats to Marita, Carrie, Darla and Pkondz as well! :thumbsup2

Look Nebo! It's our people! Whereabouts in Deutschland?

A small town, close to Düsseldorf :) Very close to the Dutch border!
My fridge is always stocked with wine, schnapps and dutch vla. Best of both worlds. You just can't help being happy living where I live ;)

I think, once it's "Hammer time" and you have posted how "it" happened, I will read the responses of the other posters first, so I can conclude from their reactions, whether I will be able to handle it, or not. May have to drink some schnaps before I do, but like a good little German, I obviously have plenty of that in zee freezer!

Oh, my people, I am verklemmpt now, sniff

Woohoo, I am #5,eternal fame shall be mine!

I'm still trying to work that math. Maybe we should have Nebo run for President....that would fix the national debt! :rotfl2:

Dreamseeker...I used to be stationed in Mannheim. I love Germany.....I could go for a schneitzel, spaetzle, and a bottle of Reisling right now!

Jill- there's always time for some Riesling :) It's like the "little black dress" when it comes to wine. I was in Mannheim just two weeks ago, visiting the planetarium- and I fell asleep! Shame on me! I love this kind of stuff, but this one hasn't been updated in about 30 years. Have you visited Neuschwanstein, the "original" Cinderella castle?

Backstage Gal- I don't know what to tell you! It's not fair. everyone should have some Umlauts in their lives. The umlaut is what made Pleasure Island ÜÜÜber FÜn! I don't know about you, but I just keep harrassing my iphone and pushing those buttons, until it caves and spits out the umlauts!

You can't let computers and phones take control, you know! You just keep pushing those buttons, until they obey! There is just no other way!

I have! It's beautiful....then we went to Oktoberfest. :)

Wow! 4th! :cool1: What do I get? Or do I have to send you something? In two weeks I can send a postcard from WDW.

My 2003 - bought in Nov 2004 - Mitsubishi Monteo Sport has 73,364 miles on it. I should have guessed my mileage and I would have gotten that coveted number one spot!

:thumbsup2 I like that! :)

Same place where you can find the key under the mat.... or the place you should never, ever ask for a side of bacon with frog legs.

yay!!! ponzi gets it right!!!!:cheer2:

I looked for a picture of it to post, but couldn't find one. (I gave up rather easily, I admit)

Isn't Kummel basically liquid rye bread?;)

I wanna go to Germany and see the real cinderella castle! and octoberfest, and all the other castles and the rhine river and the black forest and....

Could you imagine Nebo in the aluminum tube of death for 9 hours? That's a lot of fuzzy cups and vikes.

on second thought.. I was just rewatching National Lampoon's European Vacation. the part where Clark dances with the german guys, and keeps getting hurt, and they ring the bells (which haven't been done in ages) cause they are going to execute someone? that would be nebo.

(well, he would also be the guy from Mony Python who keeps getting run over and hurt, dual roles)

LOL Too funny.. "But it's only a flesh wound!!" :rotfl:

Ah! I came close once, Cologne. But not Düsseldorf.

I love Germany.....I could go for a schneitzel, spaetzle, and a bottle of Reisling right now!

At dinner tonight, we were talking about a slim... okay, very slim... chance of possibly going to Europe next year.

I mentioned London... DD15: "Buckingham Palace!!!", DD11: nothing
I mentioned Paris... DD15: "Eiffel Tower!!!", DD11: nothing
I mentioned Germany... DD11: "Spaetzle!!!!"

Have you visited Neuschwanstein, the "original" Cinderella castle?

Yup! Me too. Twice, actually.

Hmmmm.... you really wanna see that?

On transcontintal flights, they actully feed you and you get free booze (at least the last time I went a couple of years ago). and pillows and blankets and its dark most of the way over you can sleep.

Small world, I'm from a small town near Dortmund, which is an hour from Duesseldorf (insert umlaut, im not pushing buttons for hours). Holzwickede.

To educate the rest of the troops, every self-respecting German household is always stocked with offers for guests, right, Dreemseker?

Mann muss etwas zum anbieten haben.

Hint - it's in there somewhere.

I demand a recount! Did you add this up in Florida???

OK, I'm easy to oblige. The recount on my guess is 79,846
