CS - What if you don't want the combo

This is the first year we are not going with the DDP. I just can't see paying an adult meal for my 10 year old and I don't want to be tied to ADR for a short trip. So most of our meals will be purchased at CS. Pecos Bills is one of our favorites but with every burger coming with fries I know we will throw most out. Can you just order a couple of burgers with out the fries? Do they still charge you the same amount as the combo meal? How much cheaper is it to leave off the fries? I just don't want to pay for food I know we won't eat. Don't get me wrong we love fries but when we go to McDs we split a med fry no problem.

In my experience, you can usually just order the sandwich/entree/whatever without the side, and save a couple of bucks. Not always, but usually.

You also realize your DD doesn't *have* to order an adult meal just because she's 10, right? Even full-grown adults can order a kids meal without any problems. I get what you're saying though because most CS meals are still quite large, even for adults. I do believe that you can order the combo items a la carte, even though it isn't listed that way on their menus.

We've ordered the sandwich alone at a number of CS places. Some CMs seem shocked/surprised that we don't want the meal. But they can process the order - I think it's usually a couple bucks cheaper for the sandwich by itself.

At Cosmic Ray's Stralight Cafe besides ordering the Cheeseburger & Fries combo I sometimes order a Hot Dog on the side without the Fries, so I am sure you can order Burgers without anything coming with them.

instead of fries you can also get apple slices or grapes, we often order 2 sandwiches with fries and 2 with apple slices and share

you do not have to order the combo in any of the disney...you can just order the main part...i know it is less money, but im not entirely sure how much

when i was there in december i ordered off the kids meal for every meal - i am not a big eater and the first night i order from the regular menu and threw too much food away so instead of wasting money i ordered a kids meal

You can also order a double hamburger...then get an extra bun (I think for 75 cents) and split up the hamburger into two sandwiches :)! Plenty of food for 2 people!

I think the poster meant that they didn't want to pay the adult price for the dining plan for the 10 year old, not that they must order off the adult menu when paying OOP.
