At CS resturants, I hate getting my food, then finding nowhere to sit. And yes, it has happened more than once. As a solo, no one can "scout" tables for a place to sit while I get the food. So, fellow solos, where are some CS places that tend to have lots of seating so I'm usually able to find a table? And conversely, what places have limited seating so I should probably avoid them? For instance, I thought I'd read that Resturantosausus was prettu good, but I went in there once and it was so packed, I didn't even get in line. And the CS in Japan looks so small, I've been afraid to try it.

I have gone solo only in early/mid February when the crowds are lower to begin with, so take that for what it's worth...

I really like Columbia Harbor House at MK; they have seating upstairs and downstairs, and they have some small two-top tables.

If you can handle the wait, Be Our Guest is really good for lunch, and it's one where you can't enter the seating areas until you've ordered your food. I ate in the "Rose Gallery" room (with the revolving Belle & Beast statue in the center) and had plenty of seating choices.

Oh, and something I learned here: I love Yorkshire County Fish Shop in the UK at Epcot, but there's not a lot of seating - I took my food farther back into the UK pavilion and sat on a bench in the area around where British Revolution plays (no performance at the time). It was actually a nice, quiet spot to relax.

I have found at DTD at both T-Rex and Rainforest Cafe, if you walk upto the bar area, you can usually find a seating place, and you can order from the whole menu while at the bar.
The area may look busy and full, but I have always found a seat available especially at lunch.

Flame Tree BBQ always has plenty of seats and is counter service (they actually have a seating area that is up a few steps from the fixings bar). If you are looking for counter service specifically because you have counter service credits, then I also select for you Pecos Bills at MK, Backlot cafe at DHS, Cosmic Rays at MK. If you just want to sit for a meal as a solo, you can sit at the bar at most Full Service restaurants at Disney and order from the full menu. My favorites are Tune Inn Lounge at 50s Prime Time at DHS, Big River Grille, California Grill at the Contemporary Resort, T-Rex and Rainforest Cafe, Fultons, and House of Blues. Also, full meals are available at most pool bars at the resorts and those are considered counter service meals. Also, all the value resort meal service places are considered counter service and the mods all have counter service and these places have plenty of seating.

Let me know what you are looking for specifically and I can help you.

Eating a bit ahead of the crowd helps. Restaurantosaurus - I had the porch to myself. Backlot Express in DHS is pretty big, too.

I just returned from a solo trip. I usually tried to eat at off-hours, or take a peek to see how crowded the seating area was before ordering any food. The most crowded I found was Pecos Bill's at MK, but I found several tables in the back that were empty without difficulty.

And don't dismiss a walk-up to a TS. I stopped by Rose and Crown at Epcot one rainy evening. A party of 4 was just being turned away so I didn't expect anything, but as it turned out they had a table for one! And it was indeed a table just for one person next to the fireplace.
