CS breakfast on dining plan

I looked through allears.net to find places where we could get counter service breakfast in the boarkwalk, epcot, DS area, which were included on the list for the Disney Dining Plan. I am thinking that it would be nice to get counter service breakfast, then a snack in the afternoon, then the TS dinner. This seems more comfortable to me than eating something in our room before leaving in the morning, then waiting until the lunch CS places open, then the TS dinner.

When do the CS places open for lunch, anyway? Early enough that they would work out for a late breakfast?

So I went to allears, as I said above, and I listed all counter service places in the area that serve breakfast. Then I compared against the list on the dining plan. There was one only: Electric Umbrella in Innovations West.

There were other CS places for breakfast (in the DS, Epcot, boardwalk area), but none participating in the DDP.

Is this correct? What do you all do? Eat in your room before setting out- food that you brought or bought? Eat breakfast at one of the counter service places that have breakfast and pay for it out of pocket? (I don't want to use my table service credits for breakfast, so I didn't check on those places.)

We are 2 adults, by the way.

Any insight would be appreciated.

We are a group of 6 adults staying at WL. We are on the dining plan and will not eat breakfast in our room. We will be resort hoping for our CS breakfast. We will visit a moderate resort and eat a CS breakfast at their foodcourt, enjoy a sneak in the parks during the afternoon and use the TS credit for a nice sit down dinner.

According to the MYW Dining brochure you can get a counter service breakfast in the following locations:

The food court in your resort.

Main Street Bakery in the MK.
Fountain View Bakery in EPCOT. Possibly the food Court in the Land.
ABC Commisary in Disney-MGM Studios
Pizzafari and Tusker House in AK.

Just because allearsnet.com doesn't have a breakfast menu doesn't mean breakfast isn't offered.

So does anyone know what is offered for breakfast at these places???

Main Street Bakery in the MK.
Fountain View Bakery in EPCOT. Possibly the food Court in the Land.
ABC Commisary in Disney-MGM Studios
Pizzafari and Tusker House in AK.

Are you open to having breakfast at your resort? We are using a CS at Pop for breakfast. That might be easier. Then when you get to the parks, you do not have to stop again so early to eat.

Allears has breakfast menus for most of those restaurants. Things like muffins, scrambled egg platter and pancakes.

http://www.allearsnet.com/menu/men_combr.htm for example.

Ask at your resort, or when you enter the park, if the restaurant has hot food or just continental breakfast.

We are going in Jan. - Feb. 06, and we are getting the dining plan. What we intend to do is on the days we want breakfast, eating at our resort or another resort using a counter service, on those days we'll have a light lunch, ( and just pay out of pocket ) as we've scheduled nice TS meals on those days. On the days we do not eat breakfast, then we'll use the counter service for lunch. Usually we purchase fruit or muffins to have in our room for breakfast - snacks. We aren't huge breakfast eaters, therfore we wouldn't do a counter service breakfast every day - so this works out for us.

If you go to allears, and click on the resort menu's link,http://www.allearsnet.com/menu/menus.htm#res
it'll give you the breakfast menu's at all the resorts. If you don't have the brochure, here is a list of counter service restaurants that serve breakfast -

Wow! Thank you, Wendypooh! Hmm... so it appears that my hopes are dashed for finding a breakfast place for CS credits near Yacht. :(

You are welcome - I actually like "roaming" the different resorts, they are fun to see, and this is one way to you can do that. I'm just hoping on our trip that the rumors are true and we can use the plan for Fantasmic!!!!! :earsboy:

We have the same dilemma, we want to do the dining plan, are more apt to eat breakfast and dinner but as we plan on staying at the Boardwalk where do we go for a counter service breakfast?

One place I'm very interested in is Sunshine Seasons in the land pavilion at EPCOT. It is listed as breakfast CS but allearsnet doesn't show the breakfast menu. Has anyone seen what's offered there for breakfast? That might be a good option.

We are also staying at the Yacht and pondering the same issues. It seems like you have to go to MGM or Epcot to get CS breakfast on the plan. We like to eat some breakfast, just not a big sit-down breakfast, so this leaves out all the TS restaurants at the BW and YC/BC. If anyone finds another alternative, let me know. We will not have a car so won't be able to easily hop to POR or some of the other resorts with food courts.

Weird that you can't get a CS breakfast in the Boardwalk area. Suggest anyone staying in the EPCOT resort area contact Disney. Suggest they add the Beach Club to go place in the gift shop and maybe, for continental breakfast, the grab and go place in the lobby of the BC and YC.

I am a 3 meal a day eater!! So I plan on eating a nice protein filled breakfast every day on the meal plan, then I plan on sharing a lunch with DH or DD (I still think getting a dbl cheeseburger + an extra bun you pay 80cents for is a great way to extend the program!) something light in the afternoon, then having our TS dinner late 7pm ish...

:flower:
(or eat around the world for the F&W!! )

I had typed out a longish message including thank you's to all who replied and offered suggestions, but I don't see it, so I must have not hit the right button. One thing I mentioed was that I had missed ABC, so I did add that to possibilities when we are going to DS.

Anyway, thank you all for helping. I really prefer a nutritious breakfast, including protein for the energy considering all the walking we'll do. Maybe we can have something light- a muffin purchased the previous day, for example, then go to the parks or another resort and have a better breakfast. But it seems as though it would be much nicer to find a CS breakfast near to where we are staying. I don't want to use my TS credits at breakfast.

I took Lewisc's suggestion and sent an email to Disney suggesting Dining Plan CS breakfast availability in the Yacht Club area.

I'm not very hopeful, though, because the following was in fine print under the submission form "We are pleased to hear from our guests and welcome your questions. However, be advised that our company policy does not allow us to accept or consider creative ideas, suggestions, or materials other than those that we have specifically requested."

So you can ask questions, but don't bother with suggestions.

Maybe they'll tell me that there is a place near Yacht to use CS credits for breakfast. *fingers crossed*
