Any suggestions for a good CS meal at MK? We have two lunches on the DP that we want to eat there and maybe one dinner (we can eat a CS for dinner, right?). I read through some of the descriptions and no of them stood out.

We like Columbia Harbor house--and it can actually be kind of peaceful (for a CS) if you time it right and sit upstairs. Pecos Bill's is good too.

I agree. Columbia Harbor House is our favourite for a light meal and I would agree with sitting upstairs for a peaceful meal. The fixin's bar is great at Pecos Bill's although I found the burgers a bit greasy (maybe it was the 2 lbs of mushrooms I put on my burger :rotfl2:). For a CS dinner I would recommend Cosmic Ray's which has plenty of variety and large portions.

Another vote for CHH. I agree with all that was said, plus you can actually eat healthy there (if you wanted to - shhh....don't tell any kids!)

Make us a second vote for Cosmic Rays! We enjoy sharing the Chicken / Rib Combo plate. And we like sweet tea (we havent' actually had any here, but a few on this board say that they have sweet tea, so we'll look for it this year). The food is pretty much standard WDW CS food, but we have always found it to be very tasty and very plentiful.

are decent cs choices at MK. Nothing like Epcot but still pretty good. I agree with the other posters. My order of preference would be CHH (for me not for my kids though - plus upstairs can be somewhat relaxing in a often hectic place), Pecos Bills, el Pirata el y Perico (when open), Cosmic Rays and then Pinochio's. The Village Haus is at the bottom of my list now that they stopped serving the anti-pasto salad.

thanks for all your replies! We are planning on going back to the room for naps a few days, is it easier to eat a CS lunch at MK or eat at one of the other resorts? I don't really know how the buses run or which resort would be close to MK. We are staying at the CBR. Thanks for any suggestions (obiviously this is our first trip!!.....so many questions!!)

For eating in the MK I would also vote for Columbia Harbor House. They have a lot of yummy choices.

If you want to try out the resorts near the MK, though, you'd have the option of taking the monorail around to the Grand Floridian, Contemporary or Polynesian, or a boat to the Wilderness Lodge. They all have CS places as well (though I'm not really sure I'd say you could get better/different things there than in the MK.) They may be less crowded, though. I know Captain Hook's in the Polynesian has some tasty sandwiches. It'd also be a nice way to see some of the other resorts if you're interested in doing that.

I wouldn't necessarily recommend busing all the way back to CBR from the MK for lunch, unless you're planning to take an early afternoon break at the room (not a terrible idea, that). You'd be looking at about an hour round trip transportation time (bus trip + waits for the bus, unless you have great timing), plus however long you'd be at lunch, etc.

Hope you have a great trip. :goodvibes

We had a good meal at the Main Street Bakery. Sandwich, bottled drink and HUGE slice of carrot cake.

We did not like Peco Bill's. Even our 5yo disliked the fries. :confused3 He eats just about any fries or pizza he gets his hands on.

I've never actually eaten a CHH, but I'm curious about it now. I checked a menu for it. There's a salad with chicken, egg, and bacon that sounds good, especially if I can get grilled chicken (lo carb).

My family has enjoyed Cosmic Ray's in the past. There are several counters in one place with different food options. The variety is nice for when you're in a larger group with fussy people. Everyone can get what he/she likes. Plus, if you sit in the right spot, you have a good animatronic alien show for entertainment.

Columbia Harbor House!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

We  the ham sandwich that's topped with broccoli slaw. Sooooo good!!
