Can anyone tell me how the food is at the Crystal Palace? Also is it really crowded and hard to get around?

We have eaten there several times. It was your typical buffet food...and I found it to be one of the more spacious Character buffets. We enjoyed it overall and are going for the 5th time during our upcoming trip.

Can you get in and out in ~30 mins? We have an 8:15am reservation and want to take advantage of the early entry to ride the 7 dwarfs train.

I really don't think so. The characters may not have even made it around to everyone yet.. I'm not sure though.

We had breakfast at Crystal Palace in April and it was great! The food was good, with lots of variety and options. My husband especially liked the made-to-order omelet station. Although the restaurant was full it did not seem crowded and it was easy to get up and get food. I did not find it hard to get around at all.

I agree with Lizbet24 that 30 minutes would be cutting it short. Our meal lasted about an hour however our waitress told us that it can take up to 90 minutes for the characters to get all the way around. We lucked out because they came quickly once we arrived and then we ate our meal without any interruptions.

We enjoyed our breakfast there. Food was good and characters were fun. As for your res time - we had an 8:20 and we arrived at the park at 730 and entered at the front of the ADR line up. We checked in early (by 8) and they actually seated us right away. The place was pretty empty even though I had been unable to get an earlier ADR time! We ate and were out of there within 30 minutes but there were just 2 of us. This was during April.

We usually get the earliest reservation for breakfast there that we can - that gets us in the park early. In terms of the restaurant, the breakfasts are good and I don't find it to be all that cramped, even when it is full. Also, there is plenty of character interaction as well.

That's good to know, I have a 8:20 at CP during our December trip and hoping to take lots of photos of main street and the castle before it gets too crowded. Plus, I would like to take advantage of some of the rides that end up with long lines as the morning goes on. Don't care to much about the characters since it'll only be my DH and myself

I like CP, but I would not book it is I was in a rush. This is a BIG restaurant, andpart of what you pay for is the character interaction. I think 30 minutes would be pushing it for a CS restarant, never mind a TS character breakfast. Part of your problem is that like the rest of WDW characte breakfasts, they tend to run behind. If you check in 10 minutes ahead, that will not guarantee you get in on time, so jut waiting to be seated could eat up part of yoru time budget.

i have been reading reorts that the mine train is not a given with early park ADR's so while I hope you can make it, And I doubt that this will occur with an 8:15 ADR, please make sure you understand that if you get a front space in line, it is a Pixie Dust moment.

To help gain your early exit from the restaurant, make sure you get to the park EARLY> THese restaurants do not go in order of ti, they look more at check in to get guests seated. ALso, pay your bill upfront so you can leave when you are ready to go, and do not need to wait fo your very busy server to reappear.

Good Luck!

Thanks to all the replies for my hijacking the thread :).

My next question then...if we showed up early (like 8:05) would they seat us? I mean it is buffet and it isn't like someone would already be sitting at our table.

I brought my 6 year old daughter there in Feb.... The food is pretty good actually. But the look on her face when Pooh and Tigger came to our table:) I cant say anything negative....sometimes its just not about the food

Yes, I would also love to hear and or see pictures of dinner at Crystal palace.

I would be interested to know this as well. I read somewhere that if you have an pre-park ADR and you go ahead and check in, they may seat you before your ADR time (but I don't know if this is true - I would love confirmation/correction on this).

If you read my earlier post you will find that this does happen. Ymmv.
