We have an ADR at Crystal Palace for 8:50pm, early June. The first Spectro is at 9, Wishes at 10, Spectro 2 at 11. Is this going to be a nightmare I should just bail on now?

First, we will have left the park by 1 or 2:00pm, and are coming back just for dinner and the nighttime shows. We should be in good humor.

My kids are older and don't care much about the characters. This dinner is mostly for me.

I'm hoping that if we arrive by say, 8:15, surely there will be patrons wanting to leave to find seats for Spectro, right?

It would be very easy for us to eat outside the park and then just go in for the shows. But less fun.

What do you think?

I think you should be fine we did a late reservation at the CP and we left when the Spectro Magic was over and the only problem we had was the crowds were kinda thick. But it cleared out fast so since your kids are older I don't see that it will be a problem.

Not sure what you think will be a nightmare - dinner or the crowds after? Do I think you'll be seated earlier than your ADR - I wouldn't bet on it. Everyone has a different schedule and agenda and may not be hurrying off to the first parade.

There is a porch off the CP dining where you can watch the fireworks. If it was me - I would plan on a leisurely dinner. Ask to watch the fireworks from CP and then try your best to find somewhere to watch the parade (never been to the parks in June so can't tell you about crowds.)

If it is important for you to get a good viewing spot for Spectro and the fireworks, I would skip the ADR and get to the park earlier (though I do like the CP dinner.)

Thanks for your replies!

I have heard that many character meals have a long wait because of patrons wanting to stay until they've seen all the characters and I was afraid that by 9:00 we'd be pushed WAY back.

That doesn't sound like a problem though. We will be prepared for the crowds lining up for the first Spectro and plan a little more travel time to the restaurant.

Watching Wishes from the porch sounds awesome! Maybe we'll try to time dessert for just after Wishes to give the crowds time to go away.

Thanks Again!
