I am looking for a dinner in MK. From everyone's "favorites" lists it seems that these two are pretty popular. But they're both character dinners, right?

Which one would you choose and why? Are you choosing for the food or the characters?

Thanks!

My choice is LTT. We loved the food and characters here.

Food was well prepared. If you want a variety this isn't the place. It has a set menu served family style (they bring bowls and platters to your table) AYCE. Food was all great. really tasty.

I also thought the character interaction was a lot better here.

We like CP too but think LTT was the better choice. We have ADR for 10/17 before we go to MNSSHP.

Only 22 days left.

I have done both and LTT was one of the surprise hits of this last vacation. Great character interaction and we thought the food was great! I will definately go back there.

Both are good but Liberty Tree is less chaotic, the food is good, no fries! The characters are great as well. It's not really a huge place and it has a lovely warm feel to it.

We adore the CP - my Dad, with whom we were just there in August, declared it the best buffet at which he has ever eaten! There is lots of variety and it's all good!

We prefer the food at the CP. The LTT food was okay, we just like a bit more variety. We have always had good character interaction at both.

LTT is served family style while CP is a buffet.

In terms of which is more popular... on out last trip we tried to get CP for dinner on a MK EMH evening and had choices of with 4pm or after 8pm. For us 4pm was too for a couple of reasons the main one being DD would be napping late so we could do the EMH. We booked LTT for the same night and got in at a much more convenient time.

I would have to say CP. Their food is fresh and good quality. The downside is that it is more difficult to get the characters to stop, they sometimes tend to skip over tables and you have to wait for them to come back or get the waiter to get them.

LTT is Stouffers food, which I believe comes frozen and then is cooked. It's not the same quality. It's not quite as difficult to get the character interaction at LTT.

We did both on our last trip (we couldn't choose against either one) and would give high marks to both. If I had to choose only one, I would have to choose CP as a slight nod over LTT. My DS (6) and DD (2) really preferred the numerous choices at the buffet.

How about both? We like LTT for a dinner, and CP for the character breakfast. However, if you are only able to do a dinner, I would go with LTT. Family-style is a nice change from the other meals you are most likely going to have.

The restaurant is very nice and colonial on the inside. The character interaction is superb- some of the best I've had. As far as the Stouffer's food thing, I doubt it. We were there before, and while I remember something like a Stouffer's sponsorship, the food was nothing like frozen. Everything was excellent- not gourmet, but quite good food. Believe me, Disney cannot afford to have frozen food you can buy at any grocery store in a restaurant that costs close to $30 per person to eat at! It's good food, and a great restaurant.

LTT. That's what I like for dinner. CP has too many kids whining and zipping around at dinner. Too noisy and busy for me. But decent food!

Breakfast? CP all the way, baby!!!! Best breakfast on property, if you ask me. :)

LTT gets a bad rap on these boards because they serve Stouffer's mac n cheese. Fine with me, I like Stouffer's mac n cheese. Most of the food at Disney comes to them frozen, for cryin' out loud. It isn't like they are plucking feathers off the turkey over at the Crystal Palace.

Some folks don't like LTT, but we do. If you aren't all into frou-frou food and need Fine Dining with exquisite presentation and all that, you'll be fine. If you do want frou-frou food, you might want to eat somewhere other than a theme park. :)

Crystal Palace for sure! Don't want to hurt anyone's feelings in regards to LTT, but the out of box macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes and stuffing didn't appeal to us at all as we like freshly prepared food. They really need to improve on the menu in our opinion as it's just too much prepared food, wheras CP is all freshly prepared and it tastes great!

Happy eating, Tiger :)

Most of the mac and cheese served in WDW is stouffers - and the stuffing and potatoes at LTT are out of box as well. In fact, the waitress admitted it to us as we have allergies and needed to ask questions about the food. Disney absolutely can afford to use boxed food that you can buy at the grocery store for $30.00 as most people aren't eating there for the food, but for the characters.

No, I'm sure they aren't plucking the feathers out of the turkey at CP, but LTT is a turkey loaf (ask the server) not the best quality. I agree with the other post, alot of it is the ambience of the restaurant. The character interaction is much better at LTT, if they can take short cuts on some of the food, why not? In my opinion, the food at CP is a better quality and fresher than at LTT. Although the salad (salad dressing) at LTT is awesome!

My DH loves LTT, I prefer CP so we do both.

Every year, we eat at Chrstal Palace. It's our favorite resturant!!! Thw food is great and the characters are different from your Mickey Mouse group. The charcacters are= Winnie the Pooh pooh: , Eeyore :eeyore: , Tiger :tigger: , Piglet (99% of the time) and Rabbit (22% of the time) It's great for everyone!

We also love both CP and LTT and do both each trip. We definitely have always had better character interaction at LTT with some rather long waits after we've finished eating at CP to see them all. I prefer the variety of food on CP's buffet, but DH and our ds9 and ds5 much prefer LTT's food. We have always found LTT's ambiance to be much more relaxed and quiet compared to CP.

Our very favorite character meal is the Garden Grill in Epcot. We've always enjoyed the family style meal and have had the best character interaction of any of the 6 character meals we've tried.
