hi there, I'm having a difficult time deciding on whether to do Crystal Palace for breakfast or dinner? Cost isn't really an issue--since we will be on the dining plan--I'm just wondering if one is really better than the other or if there are advantages of one over the other...Also, is CP or Liberty Tree Tavern better for dinner?
thanks!

Last year we did both for dinner. This year we're doing CP for breakfast and LTT for dinner. The CP dinner is okay. We've heard the breakfast is much better, hence our switch this year. I guess we'll find out. Plus, we really like LTT for dinner. Yum! :)

I've been to CP for dinner and breakfast, and LTT for dinner. I prefer CP for breakfast over the CP dinner and the LTT dinner is one of my favorites. The character interaction was a little better at CP as the LTT tables are a little close together and seem harder for the characters to get around and visit.

The Crystal Palace is a favorite breakfast spot for us! The food is terrific.

We really did not enjoy the food at Liberty Tree Tavern. Seemed like lots of boxed items.. Things you make at home when you dont have a lot of time to prepare. Liked the character dining part of it, but would not go back because of the food. We did the dinner at CP, really enjoyed it. We would definately do that again.. Try to get PS for the start of Wishes.. We did and were able to watch the fireworks from the porch of CP, our last night at WDW, it was very magical.... :woohoo:

We love Crystal Place for breakfast or dinner.

Coming from NE LTT was always a most do for dinner. Loved the style of the restaurant the wavey windows. the uneven floor, the whole country feel. I've always found the characters here to be the most interacting of all the character meals. Now the food, what use to be a awesome meal has gone down hill. Everything taste processed even the meats. The whole meal reminds me of something you get out of the freezer. Our last visit was in 2004 and we decided that night we could get better food at one of the counter serve restaurants, sadly we would not be returning to this restaurant.

I thought the dinner at LTT was marginal. Like others have said - something like you might pull out of the freezer and make on a busy night! The character interaction was good however.

I've not done CP for dinner but their lunch is one of my favorite meals on property anywhere. I love the restaurant too - something magical about it!

We wont recommend LTT. It was cold meat when we finally got it. I whip up a better dinner on a weeknight than this food was. It was very generic. ham, beef, turkey, mac and cheese, stuffing. Any of us can pull it out of the freezer and heat and serve. And the night we went the characters were barely at the tables. DD didnt even remeber meeting Minnie, good thing I had the pictures to show her.

My vote is LTT. We enjoyed CP breakfast, food was great, but the character part was bad that day, several of us had to complain about how long it took to even SEE a character on our side (for the record it was 1 hour and 10 min). I'd try it again sometime, but not next trip. LTT, on the other hand, was great. We enjoyed the food, really liked that it was family style and no one had to keep getting up and down to get more, adn the characters came around alot since it's smaller.

We are doing LTT again this next trip.

I also enjoy CP for breakfast and LTT for dinner. I think every family has different preferences on food. Check out the menus for both what would your family enjoy. As far as character interaction I have had good at both. When my girls were little they like Pooh and friends and now that they are a little older they like Minnie Goofy and friends.

For dinner, I would prefer LTT for the food. It is pretty much traditional Thanksgiving fare, but we enjoyed this more than the food selections at CP. For atmosphere and character interaction, I prefer CP. This restaurant is beautiful, character interaction was good. LTT was very dark where we were seated, even the pictures didn't turn out very good.

I haven't tried CP yet, but i tried LTT, last October. liked the atmosphere, and the characters, but i really thought the food was not so good. Nobody ate much at all.

I would pick CP breakfast or dinner over dinner at LTT. Maybe we were there on an off night but I didn't care for the food at LTT. It tasted like cafeteria food to me.

CP breakfast and LTT dinner are a must for DH and I every time we go to WDW. The breakfast buffet at CP is really good and the character interaction is great. pooh: :eeyore: :tigger: We love the dinner at LTT. Yes, it is basic comfort food, turkey, beef, ham, mashed potatoes, mac & cheese, etc., but is supposed to have that Colonial/Thanksgiving feel to it. The character interaction there was great too. ::MinnieMo :goofy: DH and I don't have any children, but we love the character dining.

We've been to CP for lunch which we love!! We've been to LTT for dinner, while it was pretty good, if given the choice I'd probably do CP for dinner. BUT, it also depends on what you prefer.

Both have completely different characters and very different atomspheres. LTT is a dark restaurant with a colonial atmosphere while CP is a bright restaurant with a Mary Poppins' atmosphere (that's the best I can come up with).

LTT is preplated and CP is a buffet. Preplated is sometimes nice with a character meal because you know you won't miss anyone coming around however our particular experience did take quite some time (for 2 of us, it took over 1 1/2 hrs which I though was pretty long).

At CP you can get your food right away and pretty much plan when you want to leave. If you want to see all the characters you should expect to be there an hour. I was pretty ready to leave LTT after an hour because we had a little toddler from the table behind us running circles around us and no one at her table really seemed to care (they were having a merry ole time). At first it was cute, then it got old....but that can happen at any restaurant. The characters did make it around twice though.
