I need some help making a decision my DH is no help...which character buffet should we attend? Which is the best value for your bucks??? thanks!

LTT is not a buffet. Food is served family style. So, both places are all you can eat, just at one you have to go get your food, the other, it's brought to you.

If you like "Thanksgiving" food, go w/ LTT. If you're more in to Pooh & friends, do CP

I haven't eaten at LTT but we went to The Crystal Palace dinner last Wednesday night and LOVED it. Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore and Piglet were there. We had an 8:20pm PS time by they were running about 15 minutes behind schedule.

The food was good. Dh loved the shredded pork. As we finished eating, the restaurant started to clear out. Each character came by our table about six times that night and my children were so excited. We walked out the door of CP just in time to view Wishes from the steps of the restaurant.

depends on whether you want food or characters more:CP is quite good for a buffet, but it's a total chaotic madhouse, and the restaurant's mantra is "don't be away from your table when the characters come by". That meant that my neurotic DD wouldn't get her own food at the kid's buffet, and I had to do her food running, and then my own, and try to be sure that I didn't miss taking the pictures with the characters. I was exhausted by the time we left, and the acoustics mean sound bounces all over.

LTT doesn't have the variety, but it's much calmer, the food comes to you, and the characters don't seem quite so rushed.

Both CP & LTT are excellent (IMHO), but CP is our personal favorite. We've been there during all 3 of our trips. If you're Pooh & Co. fans you can't miss it. We were there one year at closing time & our kids plus 4 others had the characters to themselves for about 20 - 30 minutes. It was awesome. Last trip they had conga lines going with Tigger in the lead. I love the food there too!

LTT also has excellent food. They have a house salad dressing - strawberry or raspberry vinaigrette - that is fabulous. It seemed a more subdued environment. Yes it is served family style, with unlimited refills, while CP is a buffet. But the character interaction is excellent here too. Our next trip we plan to try the CP breakfast (haven't done that yet & I heard they have Pooh waffles) and do LTT for dinner - though on different days. Last trip we finished our meal at LTT & watched Spectro from the front porch!

Yes I agree I wish all my dilema's were like this....hehehe

I'm taking my DS-5, DD-7, DD-9 , DH, DM-68, ok there are 11 of us total. And based on everyone's comments, (thanks a billion) I can already see myself running around CP like a mad woman, trying to get everyone in my group served and all the trips back and forth.....so LTT it is. I just want to sit and enjoy...i'm on vacation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would choose by what characters you want to see. The food at both is good.

I have done both of these meals and my preference is LTT.

Cp has just a regular breakfast buffet and Pooh characters. LTT is a family style buffet (all you can eat) of flank steak, turkey, stuffing, mac and cheese, and potatoes. Dessert is extra at LTT. You'll see Mickey, Minnie, and Pluto as well dressed in colonial clothing to match the theme of the restaurant.

You'll have to decide which meal time you prefer, lunch or dinner, and what characters you want to see. Also LTT seems a lot quieter and less children running all around because of the way the food is served.

When I went to Disney 5 years ago I didn't have the foresight to book 90 days in advance and Crystal Palace was the only reservation I could get on short notice. I was kind of dissapointed because I wanted a breakfast with Mickey Mouse and not Pooh but I loved it!!! Looking back on all the character pictures of my last 4 visits the most and the best are from Crystal Palace. Tigger has always been a jokester with the family and the kids and my DS (then 9 months) went ape over Pooh. This trip in November is the first trip I'm skipping it because I finally got Cinderella's Royal Table reservations.

My wife I went to LTT last year, and loved it. The food was excellent, and the service was great (it was nice that the only time I had to get up was when my wife & I had a group photo with some of the characters). The characters moved around so that a table wasn’t bombarded by a group of characters at a time, just a nice steady flow so one could enjoy their dinner. To make my wife’s day, she got to have her picture taken with her favorite character – Minnie. I have never been to CP, but I know that when we get to take our daughter in a few years, we are making arrangements for LTT!

Can another Jessica chime in?? We LOVE both of these restaurants (I mean, for what and where they are - not gourmet dining of course). You cannot go wrong with either. We have eaten LTT both lunch (no characters) and dinner (characters). The dinner was great because we stepped outside for Spectromagic immediately after -- perfect! But if I could only do one it would be Crystal Palace. We have had 3 lunches there and I did not think it was a madhouse. In fact, it was much quieter than I expected, and very lovely. Food is very good at both. As is character interaction.

Heres my two cents. I have never been to CP but I have been to LTT and loved it. By the time you are done eating the charater wil have stopped by at least 2xs. They also spend time with the kids and not rush off like alot of places.

My family enjoyed the Crystal palace. Great food and loads of it. Great assorment to please all. Mickey pancakes, fresh omletes and lots of fresh fruit. We booked a late breakfast (10:30)went on a few rides and went for brunch we were full until dinner. Pooh and friends were great. And my girls are 12 and 14!

Thanks for the info evriv! We've done the CP dinner 3 times & loved it. We're planning to try the breakfast next trip. We plan to do just what you did, get ps's for about 10:30 and do brunch. I heard they had Pooh waffles - did you see those?

I was the only Jessica up until 9th grade! You may not be much older...but that is pretty funny ...can't wait to see Mickey
My two DD's are not big eaters and don't care for breakfast foods. Both my DD 7 & 9 still wear 4/5 in clothes. ...but if I give them a bag a chips they will attack it....don't know what to do with them!

HI Yes we did see the pooh waffles. They were in the buffet table for children. We tried to reserve our meals for off times and we were not disappointed. Be sure to check your reservations before you leave or when you arrive. We had a few mix ups with ours and even had someone sign in with one of our reservations at the Crystal Palace. Keep all of you res #'s with you when you go to the restaurant. The cast at Sci-fi was great and took the time to check all of our reservations and she found a few mistakes. Other than that we had a great time. The mix ups could have been due to the hectic christmas holiday.
