pirate: We'll be their next week and have an ADR for breakfast at CP. I've read alot of good reviews here about the breakfast.

Well, I have never done CM but did CP for the first time for breakfast in August and I've got 2 breakfast ADR's for our October trip there. The food was great, characters were great, service was great and if you can get in early you get a jump on the crowds into the parks. We were done right at 9am when the parks opened but most folks get "busy" on Main St with all the characters so we did so much in that first hour.

OH...and I was there with my friend and her DS(15) and even the 15 year old got into the characters. Very cute!

We did CP for lunch and dinner and CM for dinner on our last trip (free dining plan). The food at CP was so much better than CM. The characters were good at both but I'm more partial to Pooh and my kids adore Tigger. It also depends where you are staying and if you have a car. Getting to CP is way easier if you are using Disney Transportation - resort to resort bus transportation is sort of convoluted and takes a long time. Plus if you make the reservation for 8 at CP you get in before the park opens...

Our breakfast at crystal palace was wonderful. Great food and a great atmosphere plus you get into the park before anyone else (if you have adr's before park opening) so you can get some great pictures of the castle.

Dont get me wrong though. I love chef mickey's too

I guess it really depends on what characters you're looking for (Mickie, Minnie, Chip and Dale vs. Pooh "and friends"). But otherwise I would say Crystal Palace hands down. The atmosphere is so much brighter and cheerier and the food was much better. We were very disappointed in Chef Mickey's.

It really depends on the characters you would rather meet. CP is beautiful, with Pooh and friends. We had breakfast there with our DD's. The last time we were there, we had dinner at CM's. (I'm sure the breakfast menu is about the same as CP---they're both buffets.)We liked both equally, they are just totally different atmospheres. :) Have fun on your visit.

Absolutely CP. We did both a couple of weeks ago (CM for dinner), and CP won hands down!

We did both for breakfast a couple of weeks ago. The food at CP is better but I think that CM was more fun. I took my dd3 and loved both but seemed to have more fun at CM too. CP Pooh, Piglet, Tigger and Eeyore. CM Mickey, Minnie, Chip, Dale, Pluto (I think) & Goofy. CP has a parade around the restaurant for the kids. CM does a song and the kids get to twirl there napkins. CP each character once. CM saw a couple of them twice. CP is a beautiful restaurant, CM is just a restaurant. CP is easier to get too but CM is not hard take your bus to MK and board the monorail to Contemporary (1st stop).

We are going back the end of October and we will do both because we love them both.

Loved CP for Breakfast. Loved CM for dinner. Second the remarks on the CP being a beautiful place, great food, and great character interaction. Breakfast lasagna was great, Pooh waffles, fruit, pancakes, made to order omelets. Plus you are right in the park ready to go.

Two items to think of - do your kids like the characters, and would they prefer having ice cream for breakfast. Some kids like the sundae bar at CM - ice cream covered waffle is great - and some would rather see Mickey, Goofy and Donald.

Just my two cents - I would pick CP

I am also a CP for breakfast, CM for dinner person. I think it's a plus that CP is in the park, so you can try to go there early and then be in the park when it opens, or have a late breakfast after enjoying some time in the park.

We enjoy CP because it is quieter and we don't feel as rushed. The last time that we were at Chef Mickey's it VERY loud and disorganized. Walking through MK in the early morning to get to CP is just a pleasant way to start the day.

We have tried both and we like CM so much better. The character interaction with our 4 year old was great. We also like the food better. CP was just ok. Everyone has their own opinions. Do you want Mickey & the gang or Pooh and Friends? Have a great trip! Either will be fun for your family.

My vote would be for CP, before the park opens. There is just something wonderful walking down Main Street first thing in the morning with practically no one around. You can get some great pictures, and the food at CP is good too (I think it's there that has the breakfast lasagna that's so yummy, right?)

We just did CP last week and was very impressed with it. The food was really good and dd loves pooh & tigger. Our ADR's were for 9:30 and we got to MK at 8:30 and they let us in the park. We walked all around - it was so cool. So different w/o the crowds. CP was fun (but stressful trying to get food for us and dd in between characters). I would do it again.
