I have an ADR for our first night at Crystal Palace and an ADR for 1900 Park Fare our last night. One of them has to go. Which would you choose?

I much prefer Crystal Palace.

I think the food and atmosphere are better. However, the stepsisters at 1900 Park Fare are very funny. Given the choice I would always pick Crystal Palace

We prefered 1900 Park Fare. I didn't notice much difference in the food, but I wasn't at either place for the food!

Ive had dinner at both, and i thought 1900 PF was quite disappointing in terms of food. I didnt like the selection or quality at all. Characters were great thou! very funny. The food was much better at Crystal Palace. Plus the location cant be beat. Atmosphere is also much prettier. CP gets my vote. :thumbsup2

Thanks for your help. You all pretty much confirmed what I was thinking. I just hate to cancel an ADR because if you change your mind you know you will never get it back, but I don't want to hang on to it when someone else might want it.

Have 1900 dinner on our ADR list for Spring Break this year. We love the idea of eating at CP, but none of us are real Pooh fans. If they would change up the characters here we would love to give it another try. But, with the price of character meals, we won't do it. I guess we are going for more of a total package with the character meals: characters, location and food.

I'd look at all the circumstances. Any kids? What ages? 1900PF plays a little better to older kids/teens; they get the humor of the StepSisters while the littler ones want the warm, cuddly vibe from Pooh & Co.

Any concerns re arrival time/not making that first night's dinner? If so, ditch it now and pay oop/CS if you actually get to the park on time. Do you really want to use a Park admission on your arrival day, or would the family be satisfied with a resort or DTD dinner, shopping/swimming/resort touring afterwards, and early to bed for rope drop the next morning? Alternatively, when you arrive does the family want to make a quick run all the way through MK, hit some must-do rides and watch the parade? If so, CP dinner would get in the way and I'd drop it.

Conversely, are there any time constraints on departure day? If you have to get back to a resort for ME, can you really take the time to enjoy the 1900PF dinner or are you going to be constantly watching the clock? If so, I'd cancel this one. Or are you going to get so absorbed in final souvenir shopping or catching all the must-do attractions one last time that a TS dinner on the last day would just get in your way? And maybe on the day you won't want to be in the MK area at all? Again, then cancel 1900 PF.

I think the food is/can be OK at both restaurants; it's all the other factors that give the final decision.

You can't go wrong with either. If you are going to MK after dinner I would do crystal palace to save just a little time otherwise it's a toss up

Holy Cow you've given me a lot to think about! Getting to CP on time is not a problem as we arrive in the morning and will spend the first day and evening at MK. We will have driven all night so I'm hoping I'm not a piece of meat by 8:00 pm. As for the last day, we always spend the it at MK and we usually are rushing trying to get everything in. Eventhough I have early ADR's at 1900 we might not want to take time to eat a big meal. I think it's going to be CP, I just hope Pooh doesn't look like a giant pillow in my delirium.

Not sure if you've decided or not but I'll toss my opinion in. We've eaten at both for breakfast several times. We used to think PF had the best of the buffet foods, and it still is probably the better of all the buffets... But this was our 3rd trip to CP. Unlike the previous 2 trips where we had been disppointed, we wanted to try one more time AND to get into the park before opening. ;) SO, we went and LOVED it this time! OMG! LOVED!!!! It was our best breakfast of our trip. I'd never had chocolate Mickey Waffles anywhere else and they had them. They were SO GOOD! I could have had only them and been happy. Chocolate batter, not covered in chocolate. :lovestruc they were soft, not hard as they often can get on the buffets. At least the batch we had were. SO GOOD! We don't care for the characters at PF but go anyway for the interaction for the kids and while Pooh and friends wasn't our favorite either, my youngest son did recognize them a little so that made it magical. :littleangel:

HAVE FUN! Eat a choc. Mickey waffle (or 3) for me!

Throwing my 2 cents in as well. We went to 1900 Park Fare for dinner in August, and, well, I'm sorry to say that I was disappointed. I've heard so much about how funny the stepsisters are. Must have been an off night, because there was nothing funny about them. Sure, they came over and made funny faces for the camera. But that was pretty much it! And I so badly wanted it to be awesome.
To make a long post short, I'd pick Crystal Palace. ;)

It's going to be Crystal Palace. If nothing else, it's convenient and it sounds like the food is preferred. Thanks everybody.

Which do you like better = food or characters or both ?

CP closes breafast at 10:30 am
1900 closes breafast at 11:30 am - so if you do an early AM EMH at MK - you can do the rides from 8 am to 10:30 am and then have a late breakfast at 11:10 ADR. Tke the resort momorail from MK to the GF (about a 15 - 20 minute ride)

CP requires a Park ticket and is $2/adult more than 1900

CP is an open buffet - not closely watched by chefs
1900 is an open buffet - but closely watched by chefs and has a chef station which makes omlets made to order
