Crystal Palace or 1900 Park Fare for Breakfast?

Looking for opinions primarily based on food and atmosphere. My daughters, 7 & 9, are definitely more interested in Alice and Mary Poppins so that's not what I'm torn about. Both of these restaurants have the make-your-own omelet station, correct? Looking forward to hearing the pros and cons of each!

When it comes to character meals, I dine with who my kids want to see. If you girls want to see Alice and Mary then 1900 Park Fare it is.

We went there last June and I thought the food and service was horrible. However, my son had the best time with the Mad Hatter.

If it was up to me, I wouldn't dine a half the restaurants we go to. It's all for the kids.

If you want a "good" breakfast, the best are Boma and Kona.

A really good character breakfast is Crystal Palace.

All the other restaurants, you go for the characters.

We've never tried 1900 Park Fare but did eat at Crystal Palace.

The food was very good here, and yes they have a delicious made-to-order omelet station. The restaurant is very pretty and they have topiaries of Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore, and Tigger near the entrance. The characters get the kids up to do a cute little parade around the restaurant. My girls (6 and 2.5) really enjoyed it.

If you get an early pre-rope drop ADR, you can't beat being in Magic Kingdom before the crowds get in there. You get an opportunity to get some great pictures of the castle with very little people (if any) in the shot. It's so peaceful walking down a virtually empty Mainstreet on your way to CP.

Definitely a huge perk! We have done this before with our BBB appointment!

We went to both last year--and while the food was much better at CP, if your kids like Alice in Wonderland and Mary Poppins, I'd go to 1900 PF. I was so excited to try the eggs benedict there and it was not good. But, they did have other standard breakfast stuff--so it wasn't horrible.

Crystal Palace hands down for the food! The Characters are fun at 1900, BUT, since the restaurant change years ago, everything has gone down hill.

But like you said, it is where the kids want to go. I would not spend the money on 1900 again. Total waste. Our daughter did not even it the food it was so bad, but that was dinner. The breakfast used to be better.

We loved Crystal Palace. I'd agree that your kids preferences are the most important, but we thought the food and character interaction at CP was fabulous!

We have done both. On our recent trip we opted for 1900 Park Fare over Crystal Palace and had a wonderful breakfast. Everything was very fresh and the food was good. :) It is also always such a treat to walk into the Grand Floridian, especially if you have never stayed there. One of the things I love about the 1900 Park Fare is the strawberry soup! It's SO good! And it's available for breakfast! :thumbsup2

Next year it looks like we will be going to both restaurants. :) But if I had to pick - after the wonderful meal we had there at the end of Feb. 1900 Park Fare would be the one.

Been to both both are good. It depends where your going that day. If your going to the MK then definately go to CP. :thumbsup2

We did both and loved both on our last trip. However, our favorite is always Crystal Palace but mainly due to the fact that we all LOVE and ADORE Pooh and his friends ;)

I think you daughters might enjoy 1900 PF better ;)

Loved the CP breakfast, but it's all about the characters. Go where the characters are that you want to see - you'll be equally happy with either restaurant.

Have done both MANY times. I would call the food about the same. CP seems to have a few "different" brekfast things - like the thing I can't remember the name of that has the waffles, berries, cream???, etc all mushed toghether. I like the omelets and the order process of them better at PF - there seems to be a stack up at CP with the omelets and pancakes converging in the middle.

For those that are moved by such things, PF also has the strawberry soup and bread pudding on for breakfast.

The buffet at Crystal Palace is much better than Park Fare's! Also if you get an 8am at CP you get the experience of being in the MK before opening which is always a treat!

I think the food is better at CP. I prefer to eat at MK if that is where I am going, because even as close as the GF is, it still takes transportation time away from the theme park. As for atmosphere, it's Alice vs. Winnie the Pooh. Which do you think is better?

Where is the official way to get in when you have an ADR? Last year some lady almost ripped my face off, because she thought I was line cutting for rope drop. Are you supposed to tell a CM that you have an ADR? Just trying to avoid another ugly scene.

I'd like to know this as well.

From what I understand, yes, you are supposed to look for a CM. Let them know you have ADR's at Crystal Palace (or whatever restaurant) and make sure you have your confirmation # should they ask for it.

Gosh, it's been awhile now. I was thinking it was the left side of the entrance, but that may have been Epcot. You should be able to find 1 or 2 CMs, where a single file entrance is marked off with a rope and one will be holding a clipboard. Give them your name (and/or reservation number) and they will let you by. It is really cool, because all of the park is "roped" off, and you get to stroll in a private alley through Main Street to the restaurant.
