Crystal Palace: Lunch vs Dinner

Hi all,

My family and I are looking to go to the Crystal Palace on the last day of our trip in June 2014. Right now, we're debating on lunch vs dinner. When I looked at online menus, everything seemed to be more or less the same (2 or 3 minor differences) except that dinner was more expensive.

If the meals are equivalently the same, then I'd rather go for lunch because its cheaper.

Can anyone confirm that the food is basically the same? If they are significantly differences, does anyone think dinner or lunch is much better?

So far, I've looking on All Ears, Touring Guides, and the restaurant section of the DisBoards. It just surprises me that such small differences would result in such a big price jump. :-/

Thanks so much!

Hi, I have the same question...I did a search in the disboards restaurant forum on "Crystal Palace lunch vs dinner" and I found the following useful post:

Lunch! The dinner changes are just more fish and the flank steak at lunch is much better than the beef loin for dinner.

Note I have also read from others that seafood is the big addition to dinner. Since I am not a big seafood fan, and since I like flank steak, I would pick Crystal Palace lunch over dinner.

Have you considered breakfast at CP? We have only done breakfast there (twice) and they have a good spread.

We especially like it so we can get early admittance into the Magic Kingdom and get pictures up and down Main Street and in front of the castle with NOBODY in them! We made an 8:30 reservation, and they will let you in at 8 or even sooner so you can explore an empty main street!

We have done both lunch and dinner and they were almost identical. I think they add the shrimp cocktail at dinner but not much is different. We always go during free dining so it doesn't matter for us but if I was paying oop I would for sure go at lunch!! We love it though!!

We have been to CP for breakfast, lunch and dinner and are equally impressed with all three. I don't know that I could put one over the other because although the food choices change, the character interaction and restaurant atmosphere are always amazing.

We do usually book the latest possible lunch time that we can, just to get the less expensive pricing and because it is late enough, we don't end up eating dinner but just have a snack before Wishes starts and being so full from the late lunch buffet, this works out great.

I think if you are looking to save money - do late lunch and snacks if needed before wishes. our family does the late dinner ( 7pm ), but its simply because MK is very busy in the late afternoon and with small children and strollers - we simply prefer to have a dinner rather than fighting the crowds at 7-8pm.
