Crystal Palace lunch & dinner ???

Called Disney yesterday and the only time we could get for dinner was after 8:30, which is too late for us. But we could do 2:45 for lunch.

If we take the 2:45, would we pay for lunch, but get lunch and dinner items? Or would we be restricted to only a lunch buffet? Lunch is $10 cheaper, so we could save money and just have an earlier dinner.

Has anyone ever done this?

You would get the lunch menu, which is similar--but not identical--to the dinner menu...and, as you said, $10 cheaper!

Yes, you will get the lunch menu. We try to make a late lunch time like you got and then just have a snack or light dinner instead of a huge meal again. Plus you can take your time eating and not have to worry about what you will do for dinner. We have lunch one day then usually decide we're starving and make a dinner reservation too.

We frequently dine at Crystal Palace for late lunches/very early dinners - in fact, I have an ADR for 2:30 on our trip in April.

We've found that the food is always new/fresh even at off-peak times, and the restaurant is a little bit quieter since it's less packed then (the service can be a little more attentive too when there are fewer diners). The character interaction we have had at off-peak times (we often do either late breakfasts or late lunches there) has been much more relaxed and interactive than when we are there for breakfast at 9 or lunch at 12:30 or some similar time.

We've had both lunch and dinner at Crystal Palace, and although I'm sure that the dinner has an extra meat selection or two, we've never noticed the difference between the lunch and dinner offerings.
