Is this a must to go to CP for breakfast? I have heard it is good b/c you can get into the park early, but what is the point to get into the park early if we are going to be eating and we probably won't get out of breakfast until 9-9:30.

Crystal Palace breakfast is a must do for us.

We try for an 8:05 ADR on a day the park opens at 9. We just let the server know we will pay the check immediately and tip in cash. That way we don't have to wait around after our meal for the check to be processed. We have plenty of time to eat, see the characters, and make rope drop. :thumbsup2

If there are no early ADRs available, we try for a 10:30 on an extra magic hour morning. This is what we did our first visit, it was a wonderful break in our early day. :goodvibes

Also, if we travel during Christmas time when parks open at 7am, we try for a 10:30 ADR so we don't waste those precious early park hours.

The Crystal Palace has been a must do the first day of our trip for many years now. We usually get the first available ADR, usually 8:05 or 8:10, and we are almost always at the rope drop. This after eating, seeing the characters, picture taking and paying the bill. When the server brings the drinks, we usually give her the card at that time. Saves time!

Excellent idea about paying immediately and then tipping in cash! We, too, try for an 8:05 ADR, and your strategy will definitely pay off for us! Thank you for sharing! :goodvibes

For our first trip with DD, 3 at the time, we did one day at MK, spending the night before and after at ASMovies. Was going to make an 8am ADR for CP, but got talked out of it by the reservations clerk, who was worried that we might miss it if the bus from our resort was late and/or we didn't make the first bus, so i opted for a 10:30, figuring we could have a snack breakfast at the resort and make brunch our main meal of the day.

Well we did make the first bus, and it dropped us at the gates at 7:40am :(

A CM at the gates was calling out "Breakfast reservations this way" so I obeyed. He asked everyone what time their reservations were and about 8 people answered all at once, so luckily he didn't hear DW say "10:30" and he asked me again. I mumbled something like "can't remember, 9 o'clock I think" - figured the worst that could happen would be that they might check and make us go back to the general admission line... luckily they didn't so we got in, wandered down an almost deserted Main St, got the obligatory "Friends" and Castle shots with almost noone but us in them, sat enjoying the sunshine for a while and got to the castle hallway for rope drop - Dumbo right away, the Snow White, Pooh... four rides completed in half an hour - Fabulous start to the day!!!

Breakfast was great - food pretty good, characters wonderful. Especially Tigger. We had told DD that Tigger bounced Daddy last time we were there (we were doing the meet and greet, had established a little rapport with Tigger earlier and then suddenly as we were "talking" to Eeyore he came running across, dived and slid at my feet almost knocking me over). When he got to our table I asked him "Do you remember last time when you bounced me?". He thought for a bit and then nodded enthusiastically. DD was completely awestruck and even now, two years later I'm tearing up just thinking about it as I type. Thanks Tigger!!

I also got a shot of DD eating a piglet waffle at the exact moment that she caught sight of Piglet heading to our table. That picture alone was worth the price of the whole trip. She had a greaet time running around and dancing with the characters too. It was fabulous, a true Disney moment that our family will cherish forever.

CP is our favorite breakfast place in all of the world. It is a must do. Great food plus its the only place where you can get Eeyore, Pooh, Piglet and Tigger!

We always do this breakfast because it's delicious, the characters are great and it's so convenient. Every time we opt for a late seating, around 10:30, and then do it on an early entry day for Magic Kingdom. Last week we did it and were able to do about 8 rides before breakfast. Then we had a leisurely brunch because we felt like we'd actually seen the Magic Kingdom a great amount already that day.

IMO, the breakfast buffets are always way better than lunch/dinner...we had a TON of fun at CP! The character interaction there was THE BEST. Not "rushed" like Chef Mickeys.
It is also pretty and the food is good, too. My only complaint is the coffee, which like all of WDW, stinks! Yaaaagh, Nescafe!
You'd think they'd partner w/Folgers or Maxwell House, anyone! WDW needs better coffee!
