We have only ever been to the Crystal palace for breakfast but this trip we are going to give the Crystal palace a try for dinner. Can you guys give us your thoughts on the dinner offerings? Thanks in advance

I didn't like it for breakfast nor dinner. The peel and eat shrimp was the best part of dinner and they weren't very good last time. There are so many other great places to eat at Disney. Hop on the Monorail and visit any of the resort resturaunts.

Thanks we have a lot of great reservations. This is more for the kids than us. We are just wondering what dinner offerings are the best/worst. Or if there is something special or anything like that? Thanks

I liked the peel and eat shrimp and loved the pulled pork but haven't been back since they took the pork off the menu (the only reason I went).

I can only speak from my last experience in December....this was quite possibly the worst Dinner Buffet I've ever had and definately the worst for Disney...Bland selection, food was not all warm, character interactions seemed brief and unorganized. (We had to wait 20 minutes after paying our bill to see Tigger)

I can't recall the exact offerings but remember being hungry an hour or 2 later.

We were also there in December and agree that this was our worst buffet at Disney. The food was barely warm and often dried out looking. Our character experience was much better though. This is not a buffet to go to for the food, just for the characters.

Wow. My experience was very different last Oct. We really enjoyed the food. I don't remember really what we had to eat. I didn't take any pics. But we left very full and happy with both the food and character interactions.

We had lunch here Aug 3rd of this year. It was really good! Now I will say that we are not much on table service places. We just haven't taken the time to do a whole lot of them. But we all 4 really liked CP. We have 2 disney adult kids and they both loved it. DS17 had some of the carved ham and siroin from the meat carving window (?? whatever that is called lol) and he liked it. DD is vegetarian and she found alot to eat as well.
We left soo stuffed! So much so that we ended up going back to our resort for awhile. lol The desserts were very good too and had a lot to choose from.

As far as characters, they all came around fairly quickly. We did miss out on piglet but not sure if it was because we were gone when they came by or just bad timing. We would definitely go again and have thought about adding it to our Oct or Dec plans. But there are sooo many places to choose from that we may go someplace we have not been yet.
We have Tuskerhouse and possibly 1900 park fare on the list of 'want to do'.

Hope you enjoy it, if you decide to go!

Hi!

I've been many times over the past few years - DS is a huge Pooh fan.

I like the food! They have very good salmon (both lunch and dinner) and interesting vegetable dishes and salads (i.e., more complicated than you'd want to bother making yourself at home). The roast beef (hand carved beef - I think its called roast beef) was good too. The desserts were good - not at all like the crappy bite size ones at Hollywood & Vine's lunch. (I can't comment on the breads/starches - haven't tried them.) Separate kid area was same as the other character meals - mac/cheese, nuggets, broccoli if memory serves.

We always have had great service, but you do yourself a huge favor if you can eat at an 'off' time: our 3:30pm dinner was one of our fondest memories of Disney World: nearly empty restaurant, tons of lengthy interactions with the characters (my 2nd DS is scared of them, so hides under the table when they approach; each character got down on the floor to look at him under the table. I still laugh when I look at these photos). When we went at Noon for lunch, during 1st week in December (wasn't a busy day at MK), the line for the buffet was very long. Never a line at the off times we've been to - you just walk over and take what you want, no wait. It felt like people were sitting at our table during that Noon lunch - butts brushed against each party's table, e.g.

Long story short: go for the characters, don't go during the busiest meal times, and you should have great service and might be pleasantly surprised by the food.

If it helps, for you to judge my taste, I really dislike the food at Old Country Buffet. I.e., C.P. is far above that quality level of food.
