Hi All,

I have a dining question. DH and kids and I have been to CP for dinner before and we love it but just to try something different this time I made a breakfast ADR there. How is their breakfast buffet ? We made ADR's for our MK day 9/16 and made dinner ADR's at CM since we have never been there, for the night when we are going to MNSSHP on 9/14. How is CM's dinner buffet ? Thanks in advance for your input.

Blessed Be,
Tina

CP is our favorite breakfast. You have to try the french toast puffs - they're delicious!

We've done CM for dinner several times. It's pretty good for a buffet dinner.

I think you've made some good choices. :thumbsup2

Breakfast at Crystal Palace is wonderful. My favorite is the breakfast lasagna - excellent way to start the day! Dinner at Chef Mickey's is very good, but we had a bad experience doing it before MVMCP - we had to wait for a table, the characters were slow to come around and it took too long to get to the Magic Kingdom - none of these are problems if you don't care what time you arrive for MNSSHP. We have had better luck being in the park for dinner before the party, less confusing for us!!

CM, CRT, H&V, Akershus, Boma, Kona, Ohanna.. and CM and Kona were the only ones we said we must return to. The dinner had excellent food, and all the characters came around 2x.

We really enjoy CP for their breakfast buffet! It is our favorite character buffet! I think the food is better than Chef Mickey's and we like the atmosphere better. We have gone the past few years, so I think just for a change we are going to go back to Chef Mickey's instead when we go in Jan. But, I am sure we will miss the CP.

We've done the combination you're asking about twice. We LOVE CP breakfast. Although I am in the minority and think the lasagna is too sweet. The rest of the food I think is really good. The characters are always friendly and attentive, and we've had excellent service there. Last year they had a new computer system and lost that we had checked-in. (I am guessing the hostess just didn't input it correctly.) Anyway we got fast passes to any attraction.

We go to CM for the characters. I just don't like their food that much. But, I continue to go because it is fun, and it is so much easier seeing the characters there.

We've done both places for both breakfast and dinner. Love both for dinner and are doing them both again on the next trip for dinner. CM was good for breakfast, but we enjoyed the breakfast at CP much much more. DW isn't much of a breakfast person but said she would do breakfast at CP again, but would not be interested in CM for breakfast again, only dinner.

I like doing CP for an early breakfast. I like getting into MK before it opens, great light for pictures of the castle.

Thank you all for your input. Now I feel better about the ADR's.The last time we ate at the Contemporary CM was the Terrace Buffeteria LOL. I was going to change to 1900 Park Faire Buffet but the only times they could accomodate our party of 9 were either too early or too late and now I'm glad I kept CM.And I love CP for dinner, their Thai Mussels are so good but I'm glad we changed up and are going for breakfast all the food you've descibed sound great. Thanks again for all your advice.

Blessed Be,
Tina

I think you'll be happy with your choices. We just returned from a week at Disney and ate at both places.

We love the CP breakfast. We did dinner there this time and didn't like it as much as the breakfast - food choices were a little too "weird" for us, we tend to like more "normal" things. But I will say that the characters at the CP get around fast and the little parade they do is always fun.

We ate dinner at Chef Mickey's both this trip and our last one. We like it for the character interaction but the food isn't the greatest to me. The ice cream buffet and desserts are good but the regular food is just OK. My biggest complaint with CM is having to wait so long for your table. It is always so crowded in there and both times we ate there we had to wait 10-15 minutes past our ADR time for our table.

We did the character breakfast at 1900 Park Fare on this trip too and we didn't care for it at all. Food was OK and characters were VERY slow in getting around. We were there well over an hour and still hadn't seen Alice and the Mad Hatter. The character manager must have noticed we were annoyed and stopped over to let us know that the characters follow a pattern and would be by soon, and I took the opportunity to let him know that of all the character meals we have been to, this was the slowest by far. This trip we also did Ohana for breakfast and CRT for breakfast. At every other character meal the characters were all around within 45 minutes. At 1900 PF we waited and hour and 15 minutes to see the last two characters. We will definitely not go back again.

CP breakfast is great!!! We LOVE the food and the character interaction is great!! All 4 characters spent a good amount of time with DS!!! We would definately go back!!!:thumbsup2
