Both still risky. I'd recommend to stick to DCL excursions in Jamaica and for the "main land" in Mexico.

One of the reasons why cruise lines need to diversify into other itineraries. Some of these regions are now seeing an outsized amount of tourism dollars relative to other industries, which means the local conflicts will start to creep into the high tourism stakes as well.

We are too! We are on the May 26 voyage! We have a private jeep excursion booked in Cozumel and I am not at all worried about it. Jamaica didn't have any excursions that interested us so we are going to shop around the port a little but otherwise enjoy a less crowded (hopefully) ship.
