Crutches?

Good morning!

My dd has tendonitis on the top of her foot and has been on crutches and in a boot for the past 3 weeks. It was supposed to be better in 3 weeks, but she's still in significant pain so we will need to bring them with us to the parks when we leave at the end of the week. How will that work? Can we leave the crutches outside a ride. The boot is removable - do we take that off before she goes in?

Have you thought about renting her a wheelchair while you're there? That's a lot of ground to cover on crutches. That what we did when I broke my foot and it was much easier on everyone.

Two years ago I suffered a severe ankle sprain just 2 weeks before our trip to the parks. I ended up renting an electric scooter and it fit the bill perfectly! I cannot remember off hand what company I rented from, but the helpful people on this board I'm sure will help with that one. It was convenient, not too expensive, and I didn't have to rely on anyone pushing me around. I also was wearing a boot and never had anyone question my ability on riding any ride I wanted. One word of caution...... Please be aware of the people around her as running into someone is a possibility . Have a wonderful trip! I'm jelous!

i totally agree with the other poster's statements.


rent a wheel chair for your dd.

if she is able to get around fine with the boot/crutches, then just rent the chair at the park for the day.



it would be the best way for her and the family to enjoy your time in the parks.

The boot can stay on. Just be aware that the water rides will get you SOAKED, so you may want to remove the boot for them.

If you rent a wheelchair (recommended) or just use the crutches, the TM at the ride load station will take them (crutches or wheelchair) from you and get them to the ride exit.

If you get the electric scooter: LEAVE THE KEY IN THE IGNITION!

I can't count how many times someone has been waiting for their scooter at the end of the ride, only to realize that they took the key with them.

Thanks you for the replies....we are going to rent a wheelchair (I've seen her drive a shopping cart - there's no way I'd trust her with an electric scooter!).
