Crusing This August- Using our Birth Certificate- will we wait longer?

Hey everyone,
we are cruising this august for the first time on the wonder and at this point cant afford a passport so we are wondering if we use our birth certificates with a raised seal if the wait is going to be terribly much longer? any help is appreciated

No, the line is the same for everyone at the port unless you are a castaway member which that line is across the way. no matter what you use everyone stands on the same line and waits for an avaiable cast member to help the next person on the line. The rule is by the end of 2005 EVERYONE sailing WILL need a passport. Have a great time. we are sailing on the wonder 6/19/05 when are you sailing ? ENJOY

No, it only takes a few minutes, no longer than if you had a passport. We don't have passports, the birth certificates have been fine. Have a great time!!

The longer waits without passports that have been reported are on the West Coast Cruises. Those on the Wonder in Port Canaveral all go through the same line. On the West Coast there is one line for passengers with Passports and one for passengers without Passports.

I was on the Repo cruise, so I don't know about the check-in procedure. I do know that when we got to CA, those with birth certificates were sent to a different line at Customs. I don't know if it took them longer to leave as we did have passports.
