Hello!

SO, I hear Crush's Coaster is a really great ride at DLP, however I am terrified of rollercoasters!

I do like Space Mountain & Big Thunder Railroad in WDW, so my question is....

Compared to those two rides, how bad/good is Crush's Coaster? Worse? Better? Faster? More Drops?

I saw a ride video but most of it is dark and you can never determine anything in the dark ride videos.

Thanks for your help!

Also, if you recommend any rides, feel free to post it here! :)

Its not speciifically scary or with big drops etc however if you dont like Waltzers you wont like this!

Its the nearest thing to compare it too.

I had a shock the first time I went on it as I wasnt expecting it to be like it was and I was scared for my 7 and 5 year old Id just dragged on however it is now one of our favourites and we laugh like crazy on it!:rotfl:

SM in Paris is different afaik to the one in WDW as it's a coaster with inversions just incase you were after riding it. :goodvibes

Crush spins around very fast in the dark and you don't know if you up or down but there are no inversions, it's my favourite ride

Yes SM in paris is quite a shock:scared1: after riding the WDW one found out the hard way:rotfl2:

crush is more like the thrill of big thunder mountain fast but scary in a fun way

I like SM, RnR coaster and TOT but HATE Crush, it's the only one that made me feel sick  and i said *never again*:scared1:

DH anmd DS(18) rode last time and saidf "not this time" - and they love SM, RNR etc. Very spinny!

The thing about it is you never know which way you are going to drop. I went on it with my son (his insistence!) last Dec when he was 6. The first sharp drop was a sideways one, so we were trundling along and then it just dropped sharply to the right.. cue much screaming from us!
It was basically haywire then for the whole thing.
I loved it, son was not too sure. His comment as it came to a finish was "well.. that was freaky!" :rotfl2:

Have you ridden Primeval Whirl at AK as I think that's the ride it's most similar to?

I'm a terrible wuss when it comes to coasters (especially if they have a visible skeletal track) but I've ridden it a few times. I don't really enjoy it but won't refuse to ride it unless there's a huge queue ..... does that make sense?

Is crush like primeval whirl? I coped with that fine but crush looked much scarier! Might try it if it's not much different!

You gotta do Crush at least once.

I love all the other rides but this one freaks me out big time - but then I get sick on the Mad Hatter's Teacups.

We're going in August and I'm only going on this one because Mrs CCG loves it. I figure, she sat through Euro 2012 so I owe it to her :flower3:

I would say, be prepared that is IS a rollercoaster!

I had no idea the 1st time, so after queueing for 1,5 hours I expected a nice "snow white", "pirates of the caribbean-like" ride - a little soft with lots to see.

Well, forget it! Not a lot to see, and very much turning round. Not a very nice experience then, but I'm hoping queues will be short (you wish! hah!:rotfl2:) this time around (next month) so I can try again with a more realistic expectation.

Does this answer your question? Problably not... I guess it's about as "bad" ad Space Mountain Paris, but as I understand from the comments heren,SM USA is softer than SM Paris so I don't know if this gives you any judgment at all.

If you're unsure, here's how I feel the coasters at DLRP should be categorized (roughly), from mild to hot:
1. Casey jr (I love that ride!)
2. Big Thunder Mountain
3. Indiana Jones
4. Crush
5. Space Mountain
6. Tower of Terror
7. Aerosmith (too scary for me... but I'll try again!)

Of course, many will disagree:scratchin

Enjoy!

Back from my trip!

So, for any inquiring minds, this is how I can best describe Crush's Coaster

It's like space mountain, with a little bit of everest (going backwards at times), with teacups mixed in.

It's fun but I definitely got nausea while riding it and had to close my eyes.

I really don't like big coasters but Crush's Coaster is just brilliant fun ... no inversions but it does go up and down a bit and spins. It is a lot less traunatic than SM in WDW which may well be the worst coaster I have ever ridden and I have ridden RRC and SM in Disneyland Paris. If you can handle SM in WDW you can handle Crush :thumbsup2

Best thing someone said to me on the boards, is that it is a bit like the Sonic Pinball ride at Alton Towers, Google it on you tube and have a look.

The only difference is that is probably is slightly longer a ride and feels smoother. It is of course in the dark - lots of flashing lights though, but to be honest, I felt being in the dark is better, as you don't know what is coming.

If you are not good with coasters, I wouldn't do this one, it is pretty intense with some long - if not particularly high dips, that make your tummy do somersaults!

I don't really do coasters, but thought it was OK.
