I was reading about Crush's Coaster and it sounds kinda like Primeval Whirl at Animal Kingdom. Am I right?

If so, no ride for me since PW REALLY messed with my equilibrium. One ride wrecked me for hours. Bad scene. Trust me.

Anyhoo, I'd love some fedback.

Can't help with any comparison of another attraction, but DP described it on a scale between Rock n Roller coaster and Big Thunder Mountain as much nearer to RnR. The only thing it does not do is inversions.
The spinning definitely disorientates you :sad2:

It is actually very similar in track layout to the original Space Mountain in California. The spin factor is minimal and if you close your eyes you most likely won't realize that you are spinning.

to me it is nothing like Primeaval Whirl or Mulholland Madness. It is FAR better in theming and smoothness and overall enjoyment.

Inversions are no big woop for me, but the spinning will get me every time. The queasiest I've been in a long, long time was after riding Astro Orbiter at MK. "Nice easy little kiddie ride," I thought. Completely underestimated the round and round and round and round and . . . You get the picture!:scared:

Thanks, bavaria!

The theming sounds fun and I'd love to see everything. Maybe I'll throw caution to the wind and go on sometime late in the day - that way I won't miss much if it makes me queasy!

Astroorbitor is notorious for making many if not most adults ill. Again, I wouldn't compare them! :)

Sorry but i dont agree at all, i felt dizzy and like vomiting for about half an hour after Crush
I rode it backwards so maybe this made things worse for me but i can't tell really as i refused to try it again :confused3

I rode backwards several times; forwards only once as I don't like to see where I am going.

OP, have you ridden Expedition Everest? I don't like inversions, won't ride Tower of Terror (did it once) or Mission Space intense side. I do like Everest however and don't find it too intense.

Obviously the impact varies from person to person. I don't like Primeaval Whirl or Mulholland Madness at all but they are still very different from Crush (those rides are more of a 'wild mouse' type ride while Crush is a Space Mountain type track with some spin). And as I mentioned, I don't like Astroorbitor in any Disney version.

I didn't ride Crush when it opened in summer and was hesitant to try it a few months ago, but really enjoyed it. I felt the intensity was less than Everest. But again, it is a very personal thing and how one person feels won't be like another person feels.

This is only a little sampler and so far only a second effort to copy from videocam.

Edited - meant to add that because of some issues with Vista I've uninstalled Adobe flash and IE add-ons. Means I can't see videos, youtube etc. So will not know if this links is working. PM me to let me know :)

Expedition Everest and Astro Orbitor both made me feel ill for a little while afterwards, I'm guessing I should avoid Crush!

I didn't find Crush to be disorientating at all. It didn't make me dizzy either. The teacups make me feel queasy but no problem with Crush.:thumbsup2

Its a great ride. My 5 and 7 year old thought so too. I personally didn't think it was intense just thrilling.:woohoo:

Personally I didn't like it. I hate going backwards so I sat in the 'front' part of the car only to find it spinned as soon as we got to the top and I spent 80% of the ride either backwards or sideways in the dark. Yes it made me dizzy and I hate that 'free fall drop' feeling you get in your stomach when you go over big bumps and it gave me that a few times. I'm not a huge coaster fan but I like space mountain or Alton Towers 'Air'...this I didn't because it spun while going round the track. Gotta be fair though and say that my friend and I went on it without reading anything. We bought into the way it is advertised on tv there - as a nice family 'look at the fishes' calm ride, so to be fair part of our 'eeek' was probably because it was so unexpected. :confused3

I went on this last week as it looked good from the video on disney website.Persuaded my 7 yr old to go on as well promising it wasn't that bad -(he doesn't do big roller coasters). I found it terrifying and felt sick for a good couple of hours after!! Think i have put my son off collercoasters for life!!!husband went on after and said it was worse than thunder mountain!!

Having ridden this 3 times on our last trip - would have been more but the queuing times were manic and it broke down twice whilst we were queuing:sad1: :sad1: - can honestly say this was a BRILL ride!! Went backwards twice and forwards once and can only say not once was the ride the same experience. I could see what other people said about it not being a ride for little ones but my 6 year old DD loved it too! We found that if we sat in a different way each time (DH with DS and me with DD and vice versa) the ride was very different. One word of warning - DD who loves RnR coaster and Big Thunder Mountain, didn't like it when Bruce appeared! Otherwise its up there with ToT as the best ride at DLRP!

I can handle all Disney coasters (I must admit that I haven't done the Mission Space or whatever it is called thing in Epcot though), I have been on Indy: backwards 6 times in a row (meaning: not even getting out of the cart, just going and going and going), ... I can handle all that!

However... I am still not sure that I like Crush's Coaster (or prim-something whirl). I have riden it in the front and in the back, and the spinning just makes me feel sick.
I go on the ride, maximum of once per visit, because I kinda like the theming, but I feel sick for the rest of the day.
That ride is evil! :) (but then, I find the Sun Wheel at DCA also very evil :scared: )

I found a few videos on YouTube from Crush and thought it might be worth the risk. Then I read that the track design is the same as the X-treme at a Dutch park. Since this ride is out doors, the videos from it were a little more revealing. I rider had very little spin, but another video was spin city. I got a little queasy just watching it!

I think I'll stick to ToT, BTM, and RnR !

Thanks for all the feedback, everybody.

I rode CC at the front and i loved the ride, even if i did feel like i was going to be sick after. But i suffer from motion sickness so i guess feeling ill after was expected lol

I think that what is very clear here is that nobody can judge for someone else - we are all different. I won't ride some of the rides others of you do, but I have no issues on Crush. Some of you ride the more extreme rides, but don't like Crush.

OP, you will have to decide for yourself unfortunately. But it is a great theming and maybe you will find that it is not so bad - none of us can make the decision for you.

Best of luck!
