Back from my DLRP trip. Had mostly a fantastic and magical time (trip report to come) but I have to say we had a big dissapointment in Crush's Coaster
Me and my Uncle tried to ride this twice and both times to no avail.
We tried Tuesday evening (23rd) at Studios around 5:40pm. Think it was having some slight problems when we entered the queue but 60 mins wait sounded more reasonable than the 80 mins Crush was having earlier in the day. What came after that was 2 long long hours in a queue that amounted to nothing but wasted time.
I know Crush is a new ride but it's about 2 years old already and there's few rides that max out a queue like that (recent example might be Toy Story Mania at Hollywood Studios though even that had queues that mellowed out after a few weeks).
Anyway after joining the queue we noticed we were not moving a lot: My Uncles been to Disney an awful lot in the last 20 years and figured this was the slowest queue he'd been in ever. We gathered something was up but when the woman on the PA system did say something we couldnt really hear it outside and even french people seemed mystified as to what was going on.
We persevered because we figured they would fix it and the queue started moving eventually though not constantly nor consistently. After almost 2 hours we made it inside the building and were able to see the loading bay. Crush seems to be a continuous loader like Pirates but the CM's manning the ride seemed to be struggling to load people in and out at the speed the shells seem to move on through that loading bay (that or people were a bit too anxious to get on I dont know). We made it around the wall thinking it was almost over and we'd finally get to ride it but then the ride broke down again. I mean not just the ride, the entire system, the lights in the room came on, the soundtrack and character babble ended and there was no movement in the line.
After 20 mins of wondering what the heck was going on a CM finally came and told us Crush was experiencing Technical Difficulties and it would be 20 mins to start again. This was at 7pm at Park closing and my parents were waiting for us outside so we decided to leave. We complained at guest services on the way out and got a complementary pass for our last day which was a nice touch
However when we tried Crush yesterday it was down again as well! So we didnt get to ride in the end. A shame as that made for a slightly bad ending to an otherwise mostly fantastic trip. They really need to sort out Crush's queue issues somehow (though as much as fastpass is good I can only see that option making things worse)
