Thanks to all of you for your help over the last several months as I prepare for my first trip to WDW without my parents. I need to start booking my first ADRs on Tuesday or Wednesday. We're staying off-site, so no DDP or transportation concerns.

Here's how things are shaping up:

quick run to the market for breakfast items
Rainforest Cafe, 6:30pm

1/5: Epcot
Breakfast: Chef Mickey's, 7:15am
Lunch: Coral Reef, 11:00am
Dinner: Rose and Crown, 8:00pm
Illuminations

1/6: Magic Kingdom
Lunch: Cosmic Ray's, 11:00am
Dinner: Hoop de Doo, 9:30pm

1/7: DHS
Lunch: Sci Fi, 11:00am
Dinner: Brown Derby, 5:30pm

1/8: Animal Kingdom
Lunch: Restaurantosaurus, 11:00am (yes, I know it's a McDonald's)
Dinner: Jiko, 5:30pm

1/9: Universal/IOA
Lunch: Richter's, 11:00am
Dinner: Hard Rock, after park close

1/10: rest day
Lunch: Portobello Yacht Club, 11:00am
Dinner: Narcoosee's, 7:00pm

1/11 Epcot
Lunch: San Angel Inn, 12:00pm (or earliest time)
Dinner: Le Cellier, 7:00pm

1/12: Open
Lunch: Open, CS
Dinner: Chefs de France, 8:00pm

1/13: Open
Lunch: Dine with an Imagineer?, or open, CS

1/14: Open
Lunch: Open, CS
Dinner: New China TS, 8pm

1/15: Open
Lunch: Open, CS
Dinner: Le Cellier, 8pm

I'll be travelling with my friend and her son, 12. It'll be their first trip to Disney, and they are unlikely to be able to go back anytime within the next several years (if at all.)

Since I go once a year, I've left the last four days open for them to choose which parks they'd like to see again. Since Epcot closes last every night in January, I've put us down for late reservations there on the "open" days. I'm not married to any of those choices, though.

Any restaurants that you feel that I've missed?

First, I don't think they are serving McDonald's anymore--but could be wrong. I think you should try to do Biergarten in Germany at Epcot--it is such a fun place and something for everyone to eat. And I strongly suggest Crystal Palace at the Magic Kingdom. We've only done breakfast (every year and it is so yummy), but I understand lunch and dinner are good too.

It looks like you're right with Restaurantosaurus, so that will be interesting.

My only concern with Biergarten is that we have an older, similar restaurant concept in one of our local themeparks. My guests will be spending a lot of time there this summer, so I'll check with them to see how they feel about it.

I'm adding the Crystal Palace breakfast to Monday the 12th.

Thanks!

Any other suggestions?

Your line up looks good! We also like Earl of Sandwich at DTD for a causal lunch/dinner and breakfast at the Grand Floridian Cafe is fabulous!

Looking good, though personally I wouldn't have put Coral Reef and Rose and crown on the same day.

The only thing I would question would be 1/5. You have 7:15 ress then 11:00 Coral Reef. In my opinion that close. Say you sit down by 7:30 and then start eating your out of there by 8:30 / 8:45 then lunch t 11:00. Are you really going to be hungry? If I were you I would try for 12:30 or 1:00. But That's my opinion. Have a great trip! :)

You're right, I missed that. I'll shift the Coral Reef forward a bit and remind everyone to eat light at breakfast.

There is a lot to eat at Chef Mic's Breafast and you do want to enjoy the Coral Reef to. It a COOL reasturant. So good luck switching that. I hope you get it cause your dinner is at 8:00 so you shpuld be good. Have fun!

That makes me nervous too. I may dump the Coral Reef in favor of Sunshine Seasons based on what you and Roedisney say. I'll have to think about that a bit more and read some reviews of the Coral Reef. So far the reviews are looking pretty good though.

Thanks! We may head to the Earl of Sandwich instead of Rainforest. I need to go to DTD on our arrival day to pick up a few things from Guest Services.

I hadn't even considered breakfast at the GF Cafe. I'll definitely look into it since we have only two scheduled breakfasts!

Would Kona Cafe also be good for breakfast, or should I treat it as an either/or?

Oh no, I meant that if it were possible to change things about a little bit and go to both restaurants, just on different days from each other then I would do that. I guess it is because I know I would eat fish at both restaurants. Sunshine Seasons is a great CS though.

Plus you could do the whole diver thing for your friend and her son.

I see what you're saying.

I hope I can get a diver too, that's one of the reasons I was going for the Coral Reef. Wish me luck! :goodvibes

Rainforest Cafe, 6:30pm
Are you driving or flying? If flying, arriving at 4:00pm will not get you to the market and RC by 6:30. I would be surprised if you could even get to RC without going to the market.

1/5: Epcot
Breakfast: Chef Mickey's, 7:15am
Lunch: Coral Reef, 11:00am
Dinner: Rose and Crown, 8:00pm
Illuminations
Keep in mind, having enough time to meet the characters at Chef Mickeys could take some extra time. Expect to be there over an hour. With that said, if you get out by 8:30, will you be ready for lunch at 11:00am after a buffet breakfast?

Some great choices there! We are going to be there over the same dates and I'm trying to finalize our choices, too :)

From what I've read on this board they aren't doing the diver in 2009. At least they're not taking any "reservations" for it now. That said, Coral Reef is awesome and totally worth it diver or no.

I'm hoping that whatever's going on with the diver resolves itself within the next couple of months. If that's not available after all, no big deal.

We're driving, so no worries. :goodvibes

If we're running late for some reason, we could always run to the market after RC.

::yes:: Perhaps not, so I'm going to delay Coral Reef until 12:30 or 1pm.
