I'll try and make this as clear as possible...

We decided to do a DCL cruise next May. My plan is to book (through Dreams Unlimited) a cabin for myself and husband.

I want to use points to book a cabin for my kids (they'll be 19 & 21).

Can I just book their cabin through DVC but keep mine with DU - and still link them so we can eat dinner together?

When I spoke to DVC she said I needed to book both through the agent, then get a letter saying I was transferring the reservation to DVC, the agency would then refund my deposit on the kids room, etc, etc. It just seems like more work than necessary.

So, to bring this back around - can two reservations be linked if one is booked through an agent and the other through DVC??

Clear as mud??

If you made it this far THANK YOU!

I think that as long as your agent has the reservation number for the other cabin, the agent can put in the request to be seated at the same table. It has worked for me and my sister when we booked a DCL cruise separately.

That's not going to be a problem, we often cruise with friends and family some of them booking with points some booking with cash. As long as you give member services and the cruise line or your travel agent your various reservation numbers they will link all of you together. no big deal:banana::banana:

You didn't ask, but...

I would encourage you to compare renting the points and using the cash from the rented points to book a total cash reservation VS 1 cash and 1 points.

I have rented points multiple times with David's Vacation Club and it is *almost* pain free. (I hate making reservations for other people b/c I want to go! :lmao:)

In my experience, if you rent the # of points you were going to allot for the cruise, you will end up with more cash than the cash needed to pay cash for the cruise.

If you prefer to book 1 room cash and 1 room on points, then please ignore the above! :goodvibes

I totally agree... David's was so easy and kinda fun, except looking at the Alunai reservation I'm not going on... but the money transferred right into my paypal is awesome..
