Cruising with a 3 & 4 year old

My DS and I are anxiously awaiting to go on our first cruise, which will be Disney, of course! Should we wait longer, or will be still have a good time taking our 3&4 year olds? Should we bring along grandpa to babysit? Tell me about the cabins also? I have terrible fears of being in an inside cabin and not having any windows. Just how cozy are they? Thanks

We just sailed with a DD-4 and had a great time!!

We also have a DD-10 (3rd cruise) and DD-4 was on her second (1st was in Flounders).

Let me say it will depend on your agenda and your child's temperment...... Mine is very outgoing and loves adventure! She only got clingy once on the last day..... And the counselors really helped get DH and I out to go pack while she went to dinner with her club......

When she sailed the 1st time we did have my in-laws along and it was a help, but the clubs were great and the real reason DCL stands out in the business..... So plan to use them!!

One suggestion I would give is to plan in some nap time and a slow day druing the middle of the cruise....... DD-4 got so caught up in the excitement that when she did finally get tired it was more of a crash that a slow down!! A few quite hours in the cabin with a bowl of mac & cheese and sleeping to a Disney movie and she was ready to go again!!

Don't worry too much about late nights in the adult areas..... Around 10 or so they all lay down with a movie to watch and they either sleep or rest. A late night in the club never really bothered DD-4. She was asleep a couple of times and usually calm and ready for sleep other wise. One of my big concerns was that she would play till 11:30 and then take till 1:00 to fall asleep.... Never an issue...... She was usually asleep by 10 and we slept in most mornings.
