Cruising to the Bahamas in August

I have a little window of time in August 2023 that would be perfect for a 3 day cruise on the Wish. Previously when we've done that itinerary it has been either early May or mid October. I know those months are plenty warm, but was curious if mid August was just oppressively hot, almost to point of unenjoyable? I know while cruising there is a breeze but we would probably stay on the ship at Nassau this time to explore and enjoy the ship. Wondering if it's too hot on deck while at port or even too hot at Castaway Cay even? Can anyone who has sailed in July or August comment on your experience.

Due to the way the pool deck was created on the Wish, I think it is warmer than the other ships. There are shady areas, but the airflow is not as good, particularly closer to the quick food area. There are more pools which is nice, but they are all pretty shallow. The wait for the AquaMouse is in the sun.

We sailed on the dream last august for a B2B in cabin 10658. It is a cabin with a giant balcony in the aft. It was too hot to use the balcony. The dream never went fast enough to get a good breeze flowing and the sun beat down on the balcony during the day. We had no issues anywhere else on the ship or in castaway.

We usually sail in the summer months and while it is hot, I find it very manageable. I would rather it be hot on a ship than have it be too cold to use the pools.

Yes, we felt like the area near the food pavilion was waaayy too hot. They had brought in some big fans for that area but I still felt bad for the cast members working those areas. The lack of airflow on a slow moving at sea day or at port is definitely a concern. I also thought it was really warm walking back to Marceline Market.

Sailed the Wish in mid-August. Yes it can get warm by the food court and up on the pool deck if you are not in the shade. Castaway was fine although the pavement around Cookies did get hot on my bare feet. Had a great time. Doing it again next August.

I think it’s hot, but I am wimpy. But at least it shouldn’t be too humid. Not a dry heat like Arizona, though, and more comfortable than Orlando, thanks to ocean breezes.

It‘s really dependent on your tolerance.

And peak hurricane season begins mid-August.
