Has anybody heard what shore excursions might be available on Christmas Day? When we booked, I was told that they are usually at sea on a holiday, but this time we are clearly to be in port. We've never been away at Christmas and I'm thinking it's "gonna" be weird being in port when I expect everything is going to be closed?

Any thoughts?

Some of us have investigated that very thing and posted the results on the cruise meets board for that cruise... For the life of me I cannot remember what's open right off the top of my head but, as most of those who post there also post here you should get an answer pretty quick if you cannot find what you need through a search of that site...

Which cruise are you on? The 12/18 Magic or the 12/23 Wonder?

If you are on the 12/23 Wonder you'll be at Castaway Cay for Christmas Day - what fun!

If you are on the 12/18 Magic you'll be in St. Thomas. There is a large group of us over on the Cruise Meets board for this cruise. Come on over and say hi! Not sure about excursions but since the island depends on tourism I would say most would be operating. My DH and I are going to Coral World that day and I checked with them and they are open.

We were in St. Maartin for Christmas one year (2001 I think) and the shops were open. I agree it is strange not being home for Christmas but some of my fondest memories of Christmas' past are being on a beach (once in Hawaii and once in St. Maartin) with my extended family. VERY special - different than being home but very special indeed.

We will be on the Wonder for Christmas too!!
Last year, we just loved the decorations on CC and the tree lighting right before sailaway. We do Thanksgiving every year, but this year we slipped in a Christmas cruise too.

Thanks for all of your responses. I checked today because I was surprised I hadn't gotten any comments. How do you make it that you're contacted when someone posts a response? It used to happen automatically!
