.....since Disney Cruise Line just increased the price of all the verandah cabins by $400!

DVC and DCL contract their points and cash prices for the year, so it is a wonderful thing that those choosing to use points are going to get an even better value now!

Here is the link to the Cruise Board thread discussing the $400 price increase:

Well we will get a better deal for this year. I don't think that the 2004 DCL chart is out yet. Unfortunately, if the price increases the points are probably going to go up too. Glad we are going on points this May.

We were going to be in a cat 10 (secret porthole) --

However, when we rebooked we booked a verandah

I see a positive here

It's too bad that to get a better points deal, we had to see a large cash price increase. Obviously, the verhandah rooms are the most popular. Is this a way to push people to fill the upper catagory cabins?

The cash increase came just in time for the soon to be released 2004 DVC crusing points charts. Qwinky Dink.

This is kinda off subject, but for those of you that have cruised on points.... it use to be that when you chose, say, the 4 day cruise, the price included not only the cruise but after the cruise a 3 day stay at a resort. Is it still done that way and is it done that way with points as well?? If it's not, it sure seems like a lot of points to use for a cruise.

DH and I are cruising on points in November. I admit I am not all that pleased to be using our precious points this way but hey, we want to cruise, I want DCL and we can't afford to come out of pocket on top of our monthly mortgage and dues so it was either book with points or not cruise at all. I think in the future, we will defintely shop around for deals/bargains (if we like this our first cruise experience). To answer the previous poster's question, our 4 night cruise does not include accommodations after the cruise. We'll be staying at the Hard Rock Hotel - looking forward to spending some time at Universal again!
