Cruising on June 28trh

Introductions :
There are a total of twelve of us arriving from various points around the states.
- Me (49), DH (49), DD (21), DDF (20) (dear daughter friend)
- My Sister, her husband and their 2 daughters (ages 9 and 6)
- My Sister, her husband and their son (age 11)
- My parents.

We are celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary and my parents 50th!

Hi Army!
My party consists of me (34), DH-40, DD-11 and DDF-11 (the day before the cruise!!) This will be cruise #5 for us and we are for the first time trying a cat 9.
We are staying at the Radission Friday the 27th and plan on hanging around the pool and ordering pizza for the kids and a couple of cool drinks for me and DH!
Glad that you joined us and look forward to meeting up with everyone-
My family will be wearing denium DCL shirts and I have a red Mickey sailor shirt that we will be wearing on Sat-28th. I will also be wearing my pin laynard with a lime green DIS ribbon on it!
WHere is Weston- we live on Panama City Beach.

You guys are really getting me pumped. A party planned already! This is not my first cruise, but first Disney. This will be the first one for my husband, however. We are suprising the kids -- they have no clue. I put together goody-boxes with all kinds of Disney stuff like autograph books, and when we pull into the port I'm going to pass them out.

Weston is just west of Fort Lauderdale. If you've ever heard of Alligators Alley, I'm 2 miles from the eastern end.

We'll be driving up that AM. Radisson was booked. I don't quite have matching clothes, but with 4 small kids (the three year old more than likely dressed like spiderman), we'll be hard to miss.

Thanks for the intros! :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Oh you have no idea how pumped we are. God help the Cm's if we are all at an activity together! :p

Excuse me Armyof6 - how did I miss read army for Amy?

I GOT MY DOCUMENTS TODAY!!! My mom was babysitting for me at home, but she said UPS just rang the door and left without a signature. I was worried for nothing. It would have been bad if my neighbor had stolen them. I can see her doing that! LOL

Can't wait to go through them!:bounce:

We got our docs yesterday! Isn't it so exciting, just gets me that more pumped up and ready to go- like I need to want to go anymore than I already do:bounce:
I forgot to ask: what time is everyone doing dinner- we have main seating- which we just got reassigned to.

We're doing the document dance as well. I 've hired an armed guard to protect my precious little cardboard suitcase (paying her in pixie dust and magical dreams) just in case we have a "bad" neighbor who might want to wander off with them. You just never know!

Next battle - getting my husband new tennis shoes. He feels that the holes in his current pair allow him to consider them a combination sandal / shoe and as such are perfectly acceptable for any location. I tend to feel that when you have holes big enough for mice to crawl through, it is time for a new pair. Sometimes I'm amazed that we've made it 25 years.

We also have main seating!

You can't link dining with everybody, but wouldn't it be great if they could put all us Dis'ers in one general location? We'd sure drive our servers crazy!

I think it would be a hoot however they might have to put yellow caution tape around the area and a big sign - Enter at your own risk!

Main seating Too! Lets hope we get the same rotation so we can limbo together in Parrot Cay. :p Nah we'll just eat dessertsssssss.

Hi Armyof6 and all,

I will be traveling with my Husband, DD18mos. and DD 8 years. My daughter is very shy, but she was happy to know there are going to be a few 8 year olds on board. I will also have my mom, my sister and her DD 4.
I'm not so sure about tea. I haven't quite figured out the pinkie and I don't think I'll like those fingers in my "finger sandwiches!"
I am looking foward to Palo brunch!
Which time is the main seating? I know my seating is early as per our request. Is this main??
I am so jealous that most of you have your documents. Oh well, I'm sure I'll get them in the next day or two. They just take longer to get all the way out here to California!
As far as being ready goes. I just ordered some clothing via online. I am hoping I get it in time. My sis warned me that I may not want to do laundry on board due to long lines, and then I went into a panic clothes buying frenzy. Saturday I will be shopping for some new jewelry to wear to formal night.
I can see myself having to go out and buy things at the last minute though. I have a checklist but it keeps getting longer!
All this excitement I forgot to breath!!:D :)
What kinds of things will some of you be last minute shopping for??

Dizzy Laura

We are also main seating! I requested a table for just our family yesterday. I thought about it for a long time. I love to meet other people and have always had wonderful experiences with our tablemates. This being a kid cruise and with mine being older, I just decided I couldn't take the chance of sitting with a family that would bring us down. When my TA called with the table request ( I also requested PLA rotation) they upgraded my stateroom from cat. 8 to cat. 6. I don't know if the call had anything to do with it, but it may be worth checking with TAs and stirring the reservations. It's nice to see a growing group for the 6/28 cruise.

Army- Early seating is the same as Main seating- which is the best for children.

Brunch is one of my favorite things to do besides High Tea.
Dizzy and Jul- where are you staying the night before?

I'm at Hampton Inn in Cocoa Beach. We decided that we wanted some beach time when we arrive so we didn't book Radisson. It has a shuttle just like R though. So it seems convenient. I hope I don't regret my decision!
I'm curious about High tea. I've actually done this many times in the Hotels in SF area. I heard that if you have done tea at a hotel that you may be dissapointed in tea on Disney. However, you guys seem to enjoy it. Have any of you had high tea at a hotel. Should I reconsider tea on the cruise??
P.S. Still working on the pinkie thing!

My monther, myself, and DD just got back from a Europe trip where we had afternoon tea most days. Of course, we didn't hit the fancy places, due to my DD's age but I actually enjoyed the High Tea on the cruise the ONE time I was able to book it!!
Never been to a tea in the US but my DD enjoyed them so much that for her birthday we had an American Girl Tea for her friends.
BTW- I am not coordinated enough for all the finger movements, so I just lap the tea- is that a problem?

I find that lapping the tea (after sloshing it into the saucer) is a must these days. After all I need my hands free to grab (politely) other goodies that might be in radar range.

I think that a cruise is a glorious opportunity to be pampered, to have fun and relax. After all you're not cramped into a car or airplane for 14 hrs and you have the chance to meet wonderful people like the June 28th cruisers.

WOW! What a great thred.

We're new to this board, new tho the cruise, but not new to Disney. We took a year off because of a job change , but we are ready to get back in to it. We are also cruising on the 28th and can't believe it's right around the corner.

Our faimly includes 4 adults and one DS age 8 and one DS age 6.

See you on board:)

Spanky, Welcome, welcome, welcome!!! We are already having a good time corresponding. By the time June 28 gets here we'll all be old friends! Where are you staying on the 27th. A lot of us will be at the Radisson at the Port. Be sure and come to the Dis meet during the sail away party. Deck 10, port side, overlooking the Goofy Pool. We'll be the ones wearing the lime green Mickey tags! My bunch= Me 36, DH 46, DS10 and DD4. Can you tell I'm excited?
