I have a question when booking on points if it is just me, my 6 year old son and 2 year old daughter does the points go the same for 1st/2nd passenger or do they take into account that my son is 6.

Thanks
Michele

1st and 2nd are the same reguardless of ages. I do not know if you can book 1 on points and cash for the 2 children, but I don't think so. Most cruise lines charge a premium for 1 in a cabin but not as much as the cost for 2. Call Member services, they'll know for sure....spruce

The first 2 are the adult rate regardless of age or payment method.

We have booked two cruises on points. 1st and 2nd passangers are considered "adults" regardless of age. I just did the Western 7 day with 2 adults on points and I payed for my son (who is 12). Several years ago I did the Eastern with one adult on points, paid for one adult and one child. Yes you can do some on cashs & some on points, but they will charge you accordingly.

The first two in the room are always adult rates. The single supplement - for one in a room - is actually almost the same price as two adults, so it pays to cruise with at least one other person in your room.

Keep in mind if you do choose to book with one or more passengers on points, DVC will charge you a $75 processing fee, and the cash price for the remaining passengers will be due in full at time of booking. :)

This is interesting, if you don't mind me asking, what did they charge you for your son when you used points for the initial 2 adults? What did they charge you when you paid for 1 adult with points and 1 with adult & child? Are they reasonable prices? Comparable to Disney rates or other fine cruise agents? What were your rooms?

Hi Tammy,

In 2000 I paid for one adult and it was just over $ 1000.00 (Cat 5 room). It was late October and they were running a Fall special. This Feb (Cat 6)I paid $ 865.00 for my son (age 12). In both cases I had to pay the $75.00 fee as well. When you pay through DVC you must also pay in full as soon as you make the reservation with a Mastercard or Visa. Hope this helps.

Valerie
