Cruising in January in the Caribbean - weather??

I'm doing research as we're thinking about booking our first cruise. I'm looking at options in January, but wondering how warm it actually is in the Caribbean at that time? I'm looking specifically at a Galveston to San Juan cruise with stops in Cozumel, Grand Cayman, and Jamaica that leaves January 13 I believe. Is the weather usually warm enough then for swimming and beach days? We've done a few off season trips in other locations when the weather is typically pretty warm but we've had terrible luck and had crappy weather the entire trip, so I think we'd be pretty bummed to book a cruise and be unable to enjoy warm weather! Thanks!

We did a western Caribbean cruise on the Fantasy last month (2/2-2/9) and the weather was perfect every day. Low 80s in Cozumel and Grand Cayman and upper 70s in Jamaica and CC.

We have done three Jan/ Feb cruises. The air temps have always been great but one time the water at Castaway was too cold to swim.

The weather does not vary too much in the Caribbean, if you review the historical weather from different websites it will support that it is pretty tropical. Expect mostly warm (and humid). There can be some "cold" fronts but they are not as dramatically cold as in the continental US. It can be cool to cold at the ports in the US but usually is 70's or greater once out to sea. We have done 3 cruises around that timeframe and even when it was Florida cold, 40's, the day we left it was 77 the next day as we passed Cuba.

Thanks! I guess I searched the wrong terms - I'll look those threads over! Good to know that even if it's "chilly" in Florida, it will still be much warmer in the Caribbean! We were at WDW at the end of January this year and it was in the 50s for the highs most days over our 10 day trip which was kind of disappointing!

We've done both the Western and Eastern in Jan and will do another Western next Jan. We love to cruise Jan-March because it is FREEZING where we live then, plus it's much cheaper than it is during other times of the year. CC is usually slightly cooler than the Caribbean, but it's still usually in the 70s-low 80s there. The water in the Caribbean will be nice and warm, I find the water still a little chilly at CC, but once you jump in you get used to it. We also went to San Juan in March and it was great weather. We always fly in the day before our cruise. One year we arrived in Orlando and it was in the high 50s. We changed into shorts and t-shirts, my dd even went swimming at the hotel's outdoor pool. We were laughing because the hotel staff were telling us how freezing cold it was.(it was below zero back at our home)

We've been to Castaway Cay twice in late December and once in early January. The air was very warm and the water was chilly each time. But the water is easy to adjust to once you submerge yourself. No problem swimming to Pelican Plunge, then getting out & waiting on the platform to slide, then sliding into the water and getting out again. I don't tolerate cold well, but that all felt fine for me.
