Just booked the Magic our of New York to Bermuda Sept 29, 2021. For those who have done a similar route at a similar time, how are the temps on the sea days to and from Bermuda? Too cold to swim? I know it will be chilly in NY the day we leave, just not sure how far they go overnight. Thx!

We will be on the Magic's WBTA (second leg of a B2B for us) just before you get on. This will be our second transatlantic, but this one is going to Bermuda before we reach NYC. In any case, we found the weather to be very swimmable in the enclosed pool area, when the sun is out. Hot tubs are always available if you need to keep warm, too. This is the first time I have ever seen DCL go to Bermuda for a transatlantic, so we are excited to see what happens. Just to make it more interesting, it is also hurricane season. Good luck!!

The pools on our Alaska cruise were packed even though the temps were in the 40s. Isn't the Atlantic Ocean very warm in September? I thought the water temps were warmer in September than they are in June.

We did a NYC to Bermuda cruise October 17th I believe of last year. The sea days were definitely different than our usual Bahama/Caribbean sea days. The first day we did make use of the pool area, but IIRC it was a little too windy to go in. On the way back we had a storm, and you couldn't even walk that well up there!

We were in New York last year at the end of the WBTA cruise. We were there September 24-25 and the weather was fabulous. It was plenty warm for swimming, but not too hot, humid, and miserable. Weather can be very different from year to year though so it's hard to know. The farther south you go (to Bermuda) the warmer it should be. Ever been to Florida in September? It's hot, humid and miserable.

Thanks, all. This is helpful. Hope it’s warm enough on our actual dates, but I’ll be in a lounge chair with a book either way. And not at work. 🙂

It largely depends on where you are from. Ive done 2 cruises out of NYC in Septembers. The first went up to Canada. The second went to Bermuda. The weather was similar for both (sunny, low 70s). The first cruise happened when I had been living in NY, no issues swimming in the pools then. The second happened after living down south for awhile. Pools were too cold for me then (hot tubs were fine both times ;) ). FWIW the water in Bermuda was too cold for me too but my companions from NY found it to be fine.

Bermuda is at about the same latitude as North Carolina. So not quite the same as Florida. Still, Id say at that time of year it largely depends on where you are from as to if you will find swimming comfortable.

Boston. ❄️. I think we’ll be ok. Good point.

When we left NYC at the end of September last year for our Bermuda cruise, it was 90 degrees. 🤷‍♀️

ETA Bermuda water and overall temps were perfect!

I've only gone out of NYC in Oct and Nov and both times the first day was cold. But Sept shouldn't be too bad.

We sailed out of NYC in mid October. It was a hot day, lots of kids in the pools. Unusual, but not unheard of. September can be quite warm.
