We redid the Estas last year do we need proof for our cruise in the Bahamas? Or assume because we will come into the country via Orlando we don't need anything else other than our passports?:confused3

sorry mis read if there is nothing changed in your sitution then the estas u had should be oke

as you have already done estas should be ok,would check still valid and details up to date, some say you don`t have to update but we always do

We did a cruise from New Jersey last year and I don't remember ESTAs even being mentioned at any of the cruise immigration points. I assume they took the info from our passports.

One cautionary comment.
We did a transatlantic cruise last year from Barcelona to Miami on the NCL Epic.
At embarkation check in they insisted on seeing a copy of the estas. We had a print out of ours but those who didn't had to queue up at one computer terminal and go online to the US agency website and print them off. Caused havoc!

it's because you boarded in Spain, and they wanted to make sure you had the proper documents.
The OP will (most likely) board from Port Canaveral, so the immigration process will have already be taken care of.

If you had your ESTA's checked it had nothing to do with US immigration. It was your cruise line who decided to check.
But the US Immigration does not require anyone to have the ESTA printout.

What can happen is that the airline people at the airport in the UK ask to see that printout, but they actually only ask if you've done it.

The point of the cautionary tale was that cruise lines do not seem to have the same passport information access that airlines do so carrying a copy of the esta would make sense.
Their cruise may well be leaving from Port Canaveral but, presumably, they will re-enter the US before they fly home?

that's correct.
But their point of origin (cruise departure) will be the USA. So, since they already are in the US they are supposed to have travel authorization.
If they didn't have correct ESTAs they couldn't possibly be in the US in the first place, let alone be at port canaveral to board a ship. That wouldn't make any sense to check it they are allowed to re-enter the country.
Hope it's not too confusing

don`t know if its the same now as a few years ago when we did a disney cruise, but when we went out off american waters and back into them we had to do customs again on boat at 6am in the morning
