Hi we just booked our cruise for the wonder november 20 2005. I was quoted 768 total. Told her to book it and gave her my credit card number. She calls up later saying she messed up and its 837. Its not a ton more but its bugs me. Shouldnt she have to honor what she quoted me? Its a contrac, she cant blame me for her mistake. Should I complain at all?

Matt

Was this with a TA? What was the mistake. Sounds like it was the port charges and taxes which are in addition to the fare. Maybe you could find what the mistake was and then go from there (I mean why the differance).

The mistake was she quoted me without port charges. I said over and over to make sure it included tax and that was the final price. She said it was and we were all set. Now later she says she missed the taxes and its more. Its really there fault and the cruise contract says once deposit is made the agent and buyer agreed on price at time of reservation and agent cant change the price. I booked with Sams TA.

Then I agree, if you already signed the contract, then they should eat the differance. I would call the manager. It is a matter of principal. Good luck

Matt, You're 15. What are you doing booking cruises? Shouldn't this be your parent's job?

Matt,
Sorry, but I'd be asking your parents what you should do in this situation. I think they are ultimately responsible.

I am our familys travel agents. LoL Booked all our trips to WDW and cruise and other trips. I am my whole famlies travel expert. MY aunts and uncles call me for advice. lol I told my parents what happened, they said I should email them and just see if they will do anything, if not then oh well we just pay more.

just out of curiosity had the deposit been processed yet? if she called back with the correct info before processing the deposit, and since an actual contract had not been signed, I'd doubt there's much recourse.

Sams just emailed me saying they apolizgize for the confusion and credited me the difference of 837 and 768 to my reservation. Way to go sams.

Matt:)

I am curious about this on my post when I said I had been misquoted by $1600 and someone indicated I might be able to hold them to the lower price

OP said that Disney quoted the wrong amount to the TA - so the TA won't be held responsible, and I doubt the State Attorney's office will be able to make DCL stick to the original quote.

What is the difference?? My deposit had been processed so I felt I certainly had a contract. Maybe I should have pressed this issue a little bit harder.

The difference being only that a TA cannot be held responsible for a mistake made by DCL ... and with as much business as DCL gets, sadly I doubt they'd feel obligated to honor the original (wrong) quote ... if the wrong quote was the TA's fault that may be different, but not sure how you'd ever prove in a court of law that the TA was at fault versus DCL. And it would cost you waaay too much in lawyer fees probably.... :( And probably somewhere hidden in some fine print somewhere is a clause protecting them from being forced to stick to erroneous quotes (kind of like how the cruise docs basically say DCL isn't responsible if the ship sinks :earseek: ).
