Has anyone gotten married on one of these cruises? I've seen several vow renewals, but being my second marriage and having a 5 year old, my fiancee and I thought we would get married on the trip next year. I wondered if anyone else had done this and I am looking for advice. One thing is that a lot of the family can't bear the expense of going on the cruise itself, but since we are doing the 7 day Western Next year with a stop in Key West, we were considering getting married in Key West. But will Disney do that or do I have to try that on my own? From what I've seen it looks like you only have the option to get married on the ship or at Castaway Cay with Disney. I'd rather just write them a check and have it all planned for me but I think I'd really prefer to get married in Key West so more family can attend. Any advice?

I have not heard of many - but on our cruise in April of 2003. I watched a wedding party walk toward the front of the ship. It was soooo breathtaking - it still brings tears to my eyes recalling it.

The groom walked with Groom Mickey and went toward the front....then Bride Minny and the Bride walked toward the front of the ship..... everyone was clapping and yelling and was very excited to see this all. After it was done... they all walked back to the area - and the bride and groom kissed!!

::yes::

We just got married this past November at Castaway Cay ! It was my 2nd marriage and I have 2 children. My DD was my maid of honor and DS was the best man. They are 11 and 14. We wouldn't have done it any other way !!!! There were of course some family that couldn't make it so this is what we did........ We got married on Nov.23rd which was Thanksgiving week. It was a 4 day cruise. We got off the ship Thanksgiving day. We put on our wedding clothes on again and had a wedding celebration at the Swan Resort with Family for About 25 people. We even had the photos to be able to show everyone at the Swan in hand. If you decide to get married in Key West I believe your on your own with the details. Disney made ours a fairy tale come true down to every detail. :) Tina

That sounds wonderful! I thought with my daughter this would be a great way to get her involved and excited about the wedding too! Sounds like yours was wonderful! Congrats!

Never done it, but seen the bride being driven in a little golf cart on castaway cay..I am guessing to the wedding site. Lucky girl!

We weren't married on the cruise, but we were married at Disney -- ceremony at Seabreeze Point outside the Boardwalk, reception at the Living Seas in Ecpot, and an Illuminations dessert party that night. Our honeymoon was our first Disney cruise... If you decide to have a wedding with Disney planning, you will not regret it. The people there are incredible and take their level of customer service to the top! They do offer intimates (I think up to 8 people) as well, depending on what you were wanting. DD9 (at the time) was our fairy God-daughter. Good luck with your decision!
