I'd call
DCL to get your transfer times. I just got mine and wasn't all that thrilled with it. However, they had better times at a different resort. I believe it depends on which cruise you are doing. You can always call DCL directly for the times for the resorts you had in mind.
It's about $70 pp for DCL transfers so if it's more than 3 people you may be better off renting a car one way or utilizing a town car service. Of course you can do a mix of things (which I tend to do).
Limo service would be the "most convenient" but not exactly the most economical. From Disney to port - about $130-$150 depending on company then from port to MCO about another $100. These prices don't include gratuity. There are several companies recommended on this board so you can easily search for them. My favorite is Lorden Transportation.
Rental car (pick up from
Avis or
Budget in DTD) from Disney to Cape Canaveral - about $50 for a full size depending on time of year. Avis in DTD WILL pick you up from your Disney resort to their office. You have to call a day ahead to schedule the pick-up time. I believe Budget offers the same service. At port they have free shuttles to port. So return the car and off to the terminal you go. It's an easy drive to port as well. I've done it twice now.
I've driven then I've driven and taken towncar service back. This time there are only 2 of us I booked the DCL transfer from port to MCO. I'm up in the air on resort to port. I have a car rental booked, but if I can be okay with the times I'll get at port then I'll keep my reservation rather than renting the car one way. Time is a factor in my decisions.
