Cruise terminal question

Will they allow you to bring a beverage into the terminal, or do you have to discard it? I'm thinking that we may have a bit of a wait, and having a bottled water would be nice.... but I would hate to have to throw it away at the door the way you do at the baggage screening checkpoints in airports!

I've brought water in before, but you never know when someone might decide you can't. There is a small café in the terminal where you can get a drink, though.

For what it's worth, I was allowed to bring a bottle of water through both the LAX and PHL airport security points last week.

We got to the terminal pretty early and not only brought drinks, we also brought food and candy. We had no problems going through the DCL inspection.

The Café had some hurricane damage and was still closed on October 9.

I would not have an open drink as you enter the terminal, but have it closed and in your carry on. There should be no problems. Remember most people have drinks packed in their carry on.

It amazes me what you can carry on, including boxes of alcohol. They take away a nail file, but don't consider that big glass bottle a weapon.

We also had bottled water in our carry ons along with snacks in the bags too. No questions or problems.

Last January, I went through security at the airports and at the cruise terminal with an open bottle of water - I always do - and had no problems. Each situation is different though. I don't think it's something anyone can predict. Worse case, they'll make you throw it out. My guess though is that if they questioned it, they'd ask you to take a drink out of it.

I've flown 6 times this year w/my grandkids ... all three of us bring plastic bottles of water. The kids' carry there's in a outer pocket on their backpacks and I tuck mine in a canvas tote I carry and no one's ever paid attention to our water ...

Now my mini-M&M tubes filled with pennies and quarters are another story ... invariably one of our bags gets pulled for an inspection
