Hey guys! We have only been DVC for about 2 years and have only stayed at Saratoga, Copper Creek, and AKL.

We are taking our First Disney cruise in September, and our idea was to have my brother drive us (myself, wife and toddler son) to disney world the night before, Probably not go into a park, and then take the cruise transfer the next morning.

We would let my brother drive our car back to his house and he would pick us up from the port when the cruise was over. He is more than happy to do this.

So my question is, what DVC studio would be the most fun/practical for 3 adults and a toddler for one night? I was looking at the RAT, and I think because of Coronavirus I'll have pretty good luck finding a room.

I was thinking a point pricey resort would be fun; because we only have 100 points, so a full vacation at VGF is out of the question (as if we would ever get in that resort for a week, but thats beside the point) but one night is doable.

Anyway, any advice or discussion would be really appreciated!

For me, the first (and most important) criteria would be one of the resorts for which the cruise transfer option is provided. (I have never cruised so I don't know if the bus goes to all or just some of the resorts).

Assuming the cruise transfer is available, My first choice would be a savanna view at AKV - probably in the JAMBO building (DVC portion of the AKL Hotel). Wouldn't it be fun for your little one to see all the animals right from your balcony? There are some good food options there and a nice pool if you get there in time to take advantage of it

Have fun!

Something to consider is you might not get into your room till after 4 pm and your bus will pick you up in the am. That doesn't give you a lot of resort time so spending a ton of points isn't worth it in my opinion. We always stay on grounds when cruising, but we spend 2 nights so we have the whole day in between. You can arrive anytime of day, check your luggage with bell services and then enjoy the pools and grounds. I believe your chances of your room being ready early are better at SSR, OKW, and AKV.

Since you have 3 adults, comfy beds for all is important. OKW has 2 queen beds and the Pack and Play for the toddler, if needed. You can take the boat to DS which would be fun for the toddler too. We took our 1 and 2 yo grandkids, and they had fun with the music and dancing in the evening along with the boat rides. SSR refurbished rooms have the Murphy beds now which are much better than the sofa beds, but not all rooms are ready at this point.

Riviera deluxe studio also has a pull down Murphy bed instead of the pull out couch.

If the pull-out couch is not a problem for the 3rd adult, then Poly and VGF both have additional bathroom space.
BLT is one of the smallest studios, so I would probably avoid that.
