Cruise/Points Question

We are wanting to do an Alaskan cruise on the cruiseline. Assuming DCL is doing Alaskan cruises in 2013 how would this work with our points.

We want to bank all of 2012 points, use 2013 and if possible borrow 2014. We only go some where every other year so using this many points isn't a huge deal to us. The other years we visit family that is out of state. If I assume (gonna get me in trouble one of these days) again I'd be able to book in Feb of 2013 (when our points are available) since there is a 24 month booking cycle, right? or would I have to wait till 2013?

Unless something has changed, here's how it works. Once you could reserve it for cash, you should be able to reserve it on points IF (big if) DVD is still taking reservations for the option you want. I think they're not taking anything currently until late 2012 now. Assuming the Wonder is in AK for 2013, I'd expect the reservation window to open in the next few months.

The rule is that all points must be in the UY which the travel occurs UNLESS you can't reach those points for reservations (a full 2 UY ahead). In that case you have the choice of the CURRENT UY or the next. That would mean that you could have a problem I'm not sure if you have a Feb UY from your info but assuming so and further assuming booking say this Oct, 2011, you would not be able to use 2014 points but would be able to use banked 2011, 2012 & borrowed 2013. Based on recent experiences, if you wait a month or 2 after they start accepting reservations, it's unlikely you could get this cruise on points at all. If your UY is after the cruise, you'd have to use UY that are earlier by 1 year.
